Notes for Newcomers:
If you are new to this thread and enjoy photography then feel free to post your pictures! We run a fresh photography thread each week, starting on the Sunday, and have a guest judge set the theme and pick winners each week. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you wish with a connection to that weeks theme. The runners up will be mentioned in the following weeks thread and the winner gets a mention and their winning photo in the weekly newsletter.
Winners also get an exclusive 'Winners Badge' for their WC profile!
If anyone wants adding to the tagging list, DM me to let me know👍You certainly don't need to be on the list to post in the thread, it just helps people see the weekly post when its put up.
Happy snapping!

I'm first to comment but have no clue what to say 🤣 except nice pictures and congrats to winners 😉

It's tradition to post nudes until this week's games master arrives 😆
Thank everyone to be part of this. Looking forward for the next theme 👍
Come on England, naked wrist Sunday ⚽️
Thanks @Deeperblue ! Firstly, congratulations to all of the runners up from last week, and @nooski for the fun theme; hopefully this week’s theme gets our creative juices flowing just as well!
So, something fun this week: PHOTOGRAPHIC ILLUSIONS & FORCED PERSPECTIVE.
There’s only one rule: No photoshop compositing trickery, no AI cheating — this has to be 100% practical.
*Bonus points if you reveal how you achieved the illusion; let’s see how creative this gets, have fun everyone!
Here’s a shot of my Speedy Pro levitating over my coffee to set things off, shot with an iPhone 11 Pro with manual contrast adjustments made in Snapseed on my phone, as well as a link to examples of practical illusions.
Have fun!

It looks like I'll have to do some research, this is going to be a fun challenge.

I'm sorry but my controversial nature in such a public place forces me to cover at least the base 😁
Where is this post in the feeds @Max @WatchCrunch ? I had to search @Deeperblue 's profile to find it.
Edit: It has been released from its holding cell.
Congrats to the runners-up @alexgee @Whitesalmon @Darkoverlord !🍻 Advanced congrats to the winner!
@apt.1901's theme is gonna be a real challenge this week. 🥳
I love this theme! Is cloning out items in photoshop or focus stacking fair game?
And a big congrats to the finalists!
Where can I submit my picture for next week?
Great theme, Congrats to the other runners up. @alexgee @Darkoverlord Can't wait to see the winner.
One more floater pic!
This time using a shot glass to prop up the watch 🍸💦

Yes, I’m a ‘itty bitty wristy committee’ member in good standing, but I think these Seiko Prospexs are finally getting too big.
Banana for scale. (The primary purpose of bananas I think?)
Tudor is now offering custom made dials, called “faces” by some.
I have a fun one for this!
When Hamilton released the Murph, I knew I had to do an homage to the final scene of Interstellar with Matthew McConaughey floating behind the bookcase.
And the behind the scene illicited a "what are you doing with that broomstick?!" from my wife 😂
I had a hunch you'd submit this. It nails it!

I could imagine!

Drunken Master
Drunken Master is one of my fave Jackie Chan movies 😁
Not sure if we're supposed to share the behinds the scenes shenanigans - but here's how I did mine:
I had to reverse the image on the screen so it was mirrored the right way round in the dial.
I also set the hands to the same time to minimise distractions.
And then there was a lot of swearing at the iphone trying to get the right focus/size/angle..
All good fun!
I thought I’d go for a bit of surrealism and a nod to Dalì 😬👇
Shot and edited on my iPhone, this is my home brew set up and contact sheet 👇
The watch is propped up on a ball of wool, and I used my watch case for a backing. A black football shirt draped over everything gives a seamless backdrop, and the light source is provided by my digital microscope with the room darkened. The red ball of wool is placed to eliminate the reflection of light from the glass vase. I shot at 3x magnification to try and negate the wide angle from a mobile phone camera, and took multiple shots, while playing with the light. The chosen image was then edited in the standard iPhone editing [suite?]
Et Voila 👍
Not sure if this counts. Took my Seiko, which I call my poor man’s explorer, on a hike with the pup today.
My skin diver can blast water out at 3000psi …
This weeks “Forced perspective photography” was harder than I thought.
Good luck to all!
I do recommend it.
For me a few key elements are a must
•good looks
•size
•quality
In no particular order, they all played an equal roll in convincing me this was the one.
The Vulcan nautique was in 2nd place but the 38 mm and 44mm would have worn small on me, same size as the Baltic Aquascaphe so this was a no go for me.
Most of all, I love the 3,6,9,12 inverted numbers.
Hope this helps … DM me if you have any questions.
