24hr Count Down

THE HUNT IS NOW LIVE.

Less than 24hrs till the claxon sounds for the start of the 2023 Scavenger Hunt. 

Some notes/vague rules before we begin:

You may have noticed the meetup post for tomorrow, which is purely a tease for the form this year's Hunt will take. NO ATTENDANCE IN PERSON OR VIRTUALLY IS REQUIRED FOR THAT SPECIFIC TIME. It is purely when I shall open the hunt and announce this week's challenges. 

Each and every photo submitted must include a watch in the shot somewhere. 

I will not accept images on screens e.g. If I ask for a photo of a duck, you cannot use a picture of a duck on your computer screen.

I have a sense of humour and everything is open to some interpretation. E.g. Last year I asked people to recreate this shot...

All of these were acceptable because they either showed good effort or made me laugh.

The standard format for each week will consist of 3 lists of photos/objects to scavenge. 

1. An individual list: EACH SCAVENGER must collect ALL items on this list before the deadline. If you don't, you are out.

2. A Team list: This is a list of photographs/objects that you have to complete as a team. I don't care who provides the photo, but ALL of the items on the list must be found before the deadline or EVERYONE FAILS and the scav hunt is done until next year. I would suggest some cooperation to make sure you get these done between you. 

3. A Charity list: These are the photos that will earn the coin for our charity this year, which is The Hawaii Community Foundation . Anyone can provide these photos and for each one provided from the list I will personally add money to the donation pot. This list is a group effort and only one donation per photo will be awarded. So if I say I will give £10 to charity if someone posts a photo of a duck, and all 80 Scavengers post the duck photo, I'm only donating £10 not £800! These photos are not a requirement for progression of the hunt but if you want to do some good int he world and/or enjoy making me poorer, then I suggest you complete this list. 

I may decide to do flash challenges during the week, depending on my mood.

I will endeavour to keep the list of team and charity photographs updated on the main post, so you can see what still needs to be collected.

How do I submit my photos for the hunt?

Post your photographs as a comment to that week's Scavenger Hunt post. Put all of your INDIVIDUAL LIST photographs in ONE COMMENT. You can edit your comment as you collect your photos to add them in as you take them, or just submit them all in one go when you've completed your list. If you are unsure how to edit a comment please ask. 

You can put the Team and Charity photographs in separate posts as you take them. 

If I feel your photograph is not worthy I will tell you so you have a chance to re-take it.

Questions people have asked:

Will each task specify whether it is an individual or team endeavour? Or does the scavenger get to chose how to complete the challenge each time?

It will be clear which are the individual and team tasks. You must complete your own individual task list.

...then now would be the time to seek clarification, because things are only going to get more weird as the weeks go by.
