Are you guys happy with the weekly photography challenges?

Rarely do I get any notification of it.

I haven’t received a single notification until this. Week one I hunted to find the challenge and Friday poll but week two I forgot.

Personally I liked it when it was a separate thread and multiple photos were allowed.

With a separate photography thread photos didn't get lost in other comments and since of the topics it's nice to explore a few different ideas under the same theme.

I think you’re doing a great job and I’m fine with how it’s set up!

For me, it’s just been a busy week with the fam and spring break. I wonder how many other people have kids out of school this week?

I haven’t gotten notifications either, but I’m also in the middle of a move so haven’t been paying attention. I would otherwise usually participate!

One question - are you rigid on the no editing rule? I often clone out distracting elements, do focus stacking, HDR, etc in my photography.

I tried my best to get the message out there a few times that instead of me tagging 100 names every time I post I asked everyone to follow #munchnews or follow me directly and check in on Sundays and fridays to see the latest post. But maybe I wasn’t clear or that’s isn’t working the way I invisioned.

My thought process was this..

The less extra work I would have to do the higher probability of consistency I can maintain week to week even when I have a busier schedule.

Hey hey, I want to participate in the photography challenge! Tried to find out the theme and where to post but with no luck even thoug I read couple of your posts. Can you please point me to the right direction?

My rule about photo editing was to keep things simplistic, especially now with AI technology getting so advanced. I did mention in the rules that you can use simple editing techniques but nothing that is photoshopped. I don’t know any of the terms you mentioned but it sounds more advance then what I wanted. The plan was to try and level the playing field so everyone would stay motivated.

Sorry I stopped in the middle of a thought and didn't write it out fully. With some of the themes I've had several different ideas that could fit but with a one photo limit I've just ignored the other ideas.

I've just been busy. New project at work with new responsibilities has taken away some free time & energy I had.

Apologies my friend, I've been quite busy the past 3 weeks and haven't had time to join the challenges. Next week will begin to be more free for me.

Secondly, I second the comments of @Fiatjeepdriver -- separate post for the photography challenge tagging all participants, and allowing multiple entries (or varied interpretations).

Now given your own busyness, my friend, I suggest you allow the judge for the week to be the one to create the separate announcement post of the winner and runners-up, tagging all participants in this post, including any new ones who joined with their entries.

FYI too, I haven't also consistently seen notifs about the challenge, except for the last one where @TheSharperTheBetter is the judge with the theme War & Peace. I may have been too busy to catch it, or I didn't get any.

And to submit your photo you just had to reply to the post with your photo.

Notifications and timings for me. Personally, shooting at a weekend would be optimal for me but not always possible.

Much respect and gratitude for picking this up (as well the newsletter) - it must take a LOT of your spare time up. I’ve always thought things like this - members should be given some incentive/recognition by the @WatchCrunch team. The newsletter is something that makes new members feel welcome and highlights existing members’ contributions. Its the content and interaction which makes this place great

I was thinking about this too. Maybe see the winners and get the weekly challenge on the Munch. Then have a separate thread like a photo gallery. Have the gallery showcase all of the submissions and the winners. Even though pictures may not be the winners, it would still be nice to see them. Some of them are still great to look at. @Mr.Santana that's if you have time to do it.
