The basic idea is you make a donation to a charity of your choice (501(c)(3)) and get entered to win my watch!

For your review, the best microbrand dive watch I have ever owned, the consistently sold out Nodus Sector Deep in Blue Orthodox (the brilliant brainchild of @Wes_nodus).

Specs, yo

CASE 316L surgical-grade stainless steel 42mm bezel width x 38mm case width x 13.6mm thickness x 47mm lug-to-lug x 20mm lug width

CROWN Screw-down crown

GLASS Flat sapphire crystal Blue anti-reflective coating on underside

BEZEL 120-click uni-directional bezel Dual function timing (60 minute and 12 hour markings) DLC matte black steel (fully lumed)

LUME Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 Grade A

WATER RESISTANCE 500 meters

BRACELET 20mm-18mm taper Proprietary NodeX™ Clasp Quick-release springbars

CALIBER: Seiko TMI NH35

POWER RESERVE: 41 hours

ANTIMAGNETIC: ≧ 4800 A / m

ACCURACY: +/- 10 seconds per day (regulated by Nodus)

It is hard to overstate just how good a watch this is. When I think deep diver, I think of oversized chonkers of watches.

The Rolex Deepsea with a 43mm diameter and 15mm of height.

The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge with just 13.5mm of height but 46mm of diamater

Even the 39.5mm Seamaster Planet Ocean is a tallboy with nearly 15mm of height.

And yet, the microbrand contender from SoCal absolutely excels in this regard. It is every bit as brilliant on the wrist as those compact proportions indicate, enhanced by an on the fly micro adjust.

You might think that means giving up on the capabilities side but the Sector Deep is a true blue deep diver with 500m of WR and an exceptional build.

There's all sorts of watch nerd goodness here. Absolutely fiery lume, the incredibly clicky dual ring bezel with 60 minute and 12 hour scale, the little arrow on the crown indicating the lock direction, and the blocky hours markers standing out from the cut out chapter ring.

And don't take my word of it.

Why am I giving it away?

Sigh. You know me by now. I love buying divers but apparently don't like wearing them.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6VF5P7qLaEQ&pp=ygUTR3JvdW5kaG9nIGRheSBkaW5lcg%3D%3D

Though this one might unique because while I've decided to give it away, I am already contemplating rebuying it. It is just that good.

So what do you need to do?

Make a $25+ donation to the charity of your choice between the day that this raffle starts and the day it ends (anonymized receipt posted in the chat) to enter for one chance to win.

Bonus points if you make a pitch as to why your charity RAWKS and I might throw in an additional donation to the winner.

Once we get all the names, I'll toss everyone into a random number generator and pop out the winner.

FAQ

What do you get? The watch comes with original packaging, box, papers, warranty card, manual along with the warm and fuzzy feeling that you’ve made a difference in the world. Also, depending on your jurisdiction, a charitable tax break.

Is this audited? Nah. You're just gonna have to take my word for that I run a fair lottery. Given that I don't stand to make any money on it, I think I'm pretty reliable.

Any charity? For US folks, call it any 501(c)(3) organization. For any non US organization, it will be the sole call of the operator of this charitable lottery (me).

And you'll ship anywhere? Anywhere I can, on me. North Korea, Iran, Russia are probably a no go. You know who you are.

Donations due by 12PM Pacific Time March 19th, 2023. Raffle will be run at that time.

I just made my donation to the San Antonio Amputee Foundation, an organization that greatly supports my sister, an AK amputee. I joined her group last month for a Ski Trip in New Mexico, shoutout to Ski Apache Adaptive Sports, where they paired coaches with differently abled skiers, using outriggers, sleds, braces and all manner of purposely built contraptions to get these folks up and down the slopes. It was an inspiring adventure for sure, one that I'll attend again!

·

Edit: I actually donated twice as I had not seen the first confirmation process through and thought it failed. Sure enough, once my 2nd attempt was prepared and I hit 'Enter', I received the confirmation of my 1st attempt! Ah well, they can surely use the funds and I know how much it means to their community, of which one is my sister. Great organization run by a tireless director

·

Daily Bread Food Bank. I used to volunteer there in highschool, doing dishes in the prep kitchen for a summer. I loved taking my breaks in their walk in deep freeze. My mum currently volunteers there in her retirement.

·

Expected that you’re donating yet another diver, but this one is a lot of fun. I expected a Pelagos clone, but it’s so much better somehow. Good luck to all the donors!

You're in! Love the cause and the generosity (even if it was doubleclick driven) 😂

The Nodus is like if a Seiko diver were reincarnated as a Tudor Pelagos. There's a delicacy to it and a brawniness to it that are not common to find together.

I really do love the watch but just don't wear it enough.

Great cause @Edge168n 👏👏👏

I’ll skip officially entering but shoutout to my wife who volunteers at the MD https://awlmc.org/ animal welfare league.

If anyone wants a great animal focused non-profit in Maryland ✌️

Awwww, you should toss your hat in! Who can turn down the chance to win a sweet sweet diver!

@Edge168n Thank you for such a generous thing you do. Such a cool way to get the community engaged. Last time I donated to a charity close to family ‘Crohns and colitis’. This time, given everything going on in the world, I’ve donated to Médecins Sans Frontières to support doctors who do tireless work around the world.

The Pan-Mass Challenge is a bike-a-thon that raises money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes to Dana-Farber. If I'm not mistaken, this year they are likely to cross the $1 Billion dollar mark in donations since the inception of the ride back in 1980. My brother-in-law, and several friends ride each year, which takes riders from the West side of the state all the way to the tip of Cape Cod over three grueling days. https://www.pmc.org/

Thank you @Edge168n for reminding us to do our good deeds.

I chose UNICEF (unicef.it), the UN fund for children protection. They operate in an impressive number of countries, so I hope my little help will be put to work where it's needed the most.
