Q: What’s your upper limit (price point) of your current collection?

Hello Watchfam!

Just doing this for fun, not trying to incite anything but I would love to see what’s your most priced watch in your collection!

Mine is this Tudor Black Bay 58 Blue that I got for my upcoming wedding 😄

That Tudor looks awesome, not a word I use all that often but this deserves it. €1000 is normally my limitI broke it for this Farer

But I try to keep it to under a 1000

My Santos.

Current RRP is £6,750 which is crazy. I paid just over £5k in Jan (with a 20% discount) direct from the AD. Don’t ask how but it happened!

Currently, the most valuable is my #longines Spirit Zulu Time, but I collect another, more expensive Longines next month, and I have my name down for a #rolex Air King which will be more expensive again.

At that point, I'm probably done with the high price watches, and would rather have a selection of interesting (and cheaper) pieces from smaller brands. I have plans to buy a #christopherward, another #farer and a #bamford , for example.

I'm also quite happy with cheap watches like my Mr Jones Watches, and my Moonswatches.

Currently 3k for my Breitling and 2.5k for the Omega. I would be probably ready to stretch to 5k if the right watch come by. But I would rather have thoses two watches instead. What I look into is to not try to loose more than 1k on a watch regardless of it price. It would hurt me too much financially I thinks. But guys remember it's an hobby enjoy wearing them. I spended way more on my vintage car in repairs. And you don't have to fill up your watch everytime you want to wear it.

I find all 3 watches on the same scale.

Breitling Chronomat 41. Brand new retail for around about USD8,800. Bought second hand for way less than that. Scratches my “automatic 3-6-9 chrono” itch, and then some.

£19.99

I’m on a break

My Seamaster was AUD$4000 used and my Tudor Heritage Ranger was AUD$3000 used.

Once upon a time, I thought that was a lot of money for a watch - and it really is - but you sort of get numbed to it, and when you see people dropping 5, 10, 15 grand instead, it's small potatoes.

Love that Farer! I’ve been looking at it for a few months now. Gonna have to wait a bit till I maybe get it as I bought a different Farer. What’s it like?

I laugh because it’s true. I look back at the watch that got me into the rabbit hole and it’s funny. I was wanting a reissue of the Timex Q 1978 for like a $169.00 and I couldn’t pull the trigger. Now almost a year later I have my name on several waiting list and about 4k tied up in three watches.

This watch took me almost 5 years to save for, at the time was £4000. My limit now is usually under £500, but up to £1000 for the right watch. Mostly its below £350 last few years. But it was a grail watch.

It happens, man, it happens. It's a strange old hobby...!

The watch is great but I’d advise getting it on a strap and avoid the bracelet which feels cheap and is the trickiest bracelet to adjust I’ve ever come across. It makes Seiko bracelets look like works of art.

My JLC Master Control is my most expensive piece. I looked at the MSRP recently and was blown away by how much it’s climbed since 2011, when I picked this up. Let’s just say that if I had to buy it today, I wouldn’t be able to justify that kind of spend. This is also one of the reasons I keep it insured!

I have! I was just at the Breitling boutique in Vegas at Ceasars three weeks ago. But of course the boutique I went to had all the colors except for the reverse panda. They had the blue, the silver, the green and the salmon. All but the one that I've been drawn to in videos all along. But at least I found out that I can pull off the dimensions even though my wrist is modestly sized (6.75").

Ah gotcha. But yes, key thing is the dimensions of the piece vs your wrist. I have a 7.25" wrist and the rouleaux bracelet hugs my wrist really well. Hope you manage to get it and share your wearing experience soon!

The most I spent on a watch was 350€ for my Seiko Solar Chrono. I really like the dial texture and the black bezel which led me to buy this spontaniously at a dealer. Since I have two little kids I am not willing to pay more than 500€ for a watch and since there is so much in that price range to discover I don't feel the need as well😀. But I really enjoy seeing some more expensive pices here on watchcrunch👍

Me too, OP! Bought in Geneva on my honeymoon. I’m hoping to get an Omega Speedmaster or Breitling B09 in the next 12-24 months… but we’ll see.

Was looking at a brand new Omega until I see their recent price hike.. but great choice!! 🙌🙌

Speedy - gift from my Wife.. her second bad decision

My current limit is $10k. I'm learning an important lesson here. I'm finding myself much more comfortable wearing my sub $1000 watches and loving the fun it gives me. I think knowing where you draw the psychological line is really important. Going higher I think would bring me no joy; the watch would sit in my box and never move.

My current is my Omega Aqua Terra in Bay Green, runs $6,300 retail i believe

£5.5g, doubt I’ll ever spend that much on a watch again.

Zenith A384. I wore it for 2 years straight and then somehow fell in love with divers. She now hardly gets any wrist time, which is a shame, so I am considering selling it or gifting it off.

Looks great on you. I wear my watches hard like that as well. Sometimes 24/7

It's like when I was young and bought a pair of shoes or a new toy, if even take them to bed with me. Watches I can take anywhere even the ocean 😜

I actually only came to this thread because I've been searching user experiences with the a384 sand saw your comment and wrist shots. Let me know if your thinking about gifting it to a complete stranger😆
