While dive watches are made to be suitable for the ocean, I don't like getting a lot of sand on them, since the particles can scratch the watch and get into the bezel. I prefer wearing less valuable watches.
I find the date complication as useful as telling the time itself hahaha. But I agree it can sometimes make a dial look crowded, especially when the date is at an angle, squished between some subdials.
I like the GMT because my work, family, and friends are scattered across several time zones. That said, I don't even own a GMT because I can't find one that I really want yet. Maybe with the new Seiko movements, there will be more options from microbrands soon.
