How many times do you rotate your ⌚?

As my "collection" grows, I find myself wishing to slough off the old while ushering in the new. As such, I tend to prioritize new ⌚ over older ones, which makes me wonder if more than one ⌚ at a time is necessary.

Nonetheless, I have enough ⌚ to rotate and am curious how others rotate ⌚.

I have a modest collection and at the moment I’m trying to wear the same watch for a week then swap out for a different one for a week. Sometimes I’m tempted to deviate from that but so far it’s working for me.

At the end of the day, each of us have our own preference so do what you enjoy the most.

Why is option D even on here? Have you met these people?

Yep.

Some people are content with one ⌚.

·

Option E. Whenever I feel like it. Sometimes daily, sometimes weekly.

·

I switch daily. No plan, no rotation. Just whatever feels right.

·

I miss the option Every day, even multiple times a day

·

When I feel like it. Usually wear one for at least 4-5 days.

When I got my new Planet Ocean I wore it for over 100 days, that's how nice it is. Made me think hard on how big a collection I want.

·

I’m very careful about what I buy so I’ve managed to really like all of them. I’ll wear a new watch for probably a couple of weeks exclusively, but then I go back to my old ones. I probably average one watch per week but I have times when I switch out daily.

·

Everyday

·

Every day. I'm on day 22 of a 30 day rotation challenge.

·

My stash of watches is the inevitable result of being in the hobby for decades and rarely eliminating a timepiece for whatever reasons, I have a lot of watches relative to the individual who owns 10. I do enjoy a new watch for days on end but will always return to a few that are my favourites. New watches merely enhance how special my special watches are to me. My wife is the single critic whose opinion matters to me, as long as she feels my hobby is harmless, I continue buying watches that intrigue even if the feeling passes.

·

Unless I’m traveling with only one watch, I wear a different watch every day. I also change watches during the day depending on what I’m doing at that time.

·

I go through phases. Sometimes it's every day/every couple of days dependant on my mood, but also I can go a week with one watch.

·

Mine depends what environment I’m in but I usually wear one for 2-3 days

·

Every three hours.

I switch my watches up daily, although lately, I have had some 3 and 4 day streaks where I wore the same watch for all of those days. I think my WRUW gallery is at 459 pictures now. I've never failed (so far, at least) to take my daily wristy and post it 😀 So if you look, you can see the patterns of my watch habit. The ones that get worn the least are the digitals; the 1978 digital is hard to find parts for, so I only wear it on special occasions. The other (modern) digitals get worn for things like yardwork, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities, so they don't get worn on a regular basis. The ones I wear the most are my analog watches, which I wear to work every day.

My collection is only 15 watches at the moment, so there is a lot of repetition in my WRUW posts. And in fact, I have built up to 15 since joining watch crunch in January of '23. When I started WC, I had three watches. I had the Marc Ecko that my wife bought for me in Christmas of 2005, and I had the Stuhrling (which I am wearing today) that my wife got me for Valentine's Day in 2014, and I had the Tissot Classic Dream that my parents got me for Christmas of '21.

I wore the Ecko exclusively for about 10 years, before I lost it. When my wife got me the Stuhrling, I wore it exclusively. When I found the Ecko again while decluttering my nightstand, I began to swap back and forth. Then when my parents got me the Tissot, I started wearing it almost exclusively.

When I joined WC, I began trying to wear all 3 watches equally, and thus began my "rotation habit." Then over the past year, I caught the collecting bug, and now I'm all over the place, LOL 🤣 But I still try to wear all of my watches each month.

I use Watchee Pro to keep track of my watch collection. So far, here is how things have panned out, statistics-wise. Keep in mind that the wear stats for the first 3 had to be estimated, since I didn't have Watchee Pro when I first acquired those watches. And remember, all of the other watches were purchased during 2023.

Casio Duro = Worn 71 times.

Casio SGW-100 = Worn 22 times.

Casio W-800H = Worn 11 times.

Citizen ProMaster Titanium = Worn 36 times.

Invicta Pro Diver ("Green Machine") = Worn 25 times.

Invicta Grand Diver = Worn 158 times.

Invicta Sub-Aqua = Worn 53 times.

Invicta Pro Diver ("Pepsi") = Worn 16 times.

Invicta Aviator = Worn 17 times.

Invicta Pro Diver ("Bluesy") = Worn 9 times.

Invicta Slimline Perry Ellis Collab = Worn 6 times.

Marc Ecko Encore = Acquired 18 years ago. Lost in nightstand decorative box for 9 years. Wear time estimated at 75% of days that it was not lost. 9 years = 3,285 Days x 0.75 = 2,464 days worn. Wear statistics past this starting point are factual, not estimated. Worn 2,477 times.

Stuhrling Concorso = Same situation as Ecko; at the time of acquiring Watchee Pro, I'd had the Stuhrling for 9 years. For 4 of those years, it sat in a box unworn because the battery died, and I never got around to replacing it. 75% of the 5 active years = 1,369 days. It has a new battery now, and as of today, it has been Worn 1,423 times. (Wears past 1,369 are factual, not estimated.)

Tissot Classic Dream = When I acquired Watchee Pro, I had owned the Tissot for 401 days. I estimated at that time that the Tissot got worn at a rate of 80%. So its wear count began at 321 days. Worn 385 times. (Wears past 321 are factual, not estimated.)

Texas Instruments Model 550 LCD 1978 Model = Worn 3 times.

Just to be that tangential kinda guy, but you know what grinds my gears? The fact that the default emoji for a watch is a smart watch.

·

Depends on the outfit

·

Just depends. I have 3 regular wears for active, casual and formal. Smart watch for the gym. Gshock for manual work. Scametti and moonswatch when I feel like it

·

I have maybe 5 Watches in my collection give or take one. I just where what I feel. Casio has been on wrist for Two weeks. Though I feel a few watches are being neglected, the silicon strap and lightweight of the G-Shock are a welcome relief at the moment.

·

Partly by occassion, e.g. my dressiest watch for when I’m wearing a suit, partly by outfit, and partly by whatever I feel like on that day.

·

I'm relatively new to the watch collecting, not sure where it will take me, but I have the idea in my head that I will stop at 8 watches. Half automatic and half quartz. Swapping between two watches a day seems doable to maintain the automatics without having the power reserve depleted in any of them.

I currently only have three watches and rotate between the two on work days and weekends while the third (quartz) sits behind for vacation as I use it as a GMT.

·

I'm missing the option E just like @Stroud_Green mentioned 😉

·

New day: new watch.

Look, I changes watches during the day! Forget daily! Honestly though, I wear what matches my outfit most of the time. Which means if I change what I have on then I change the watch. I also have a set that is strictly dress and wear the one that matches the occasion as well as the attire. I have sets for all kinds of stuff, even hiking and hunting. So there is a lot that goes into what I wear. I don’t always post what I wear too, if I did then my watch roll gallery would be ridiculously out of control…on second thought…maybe I will start dong that😋

·

I wear a different watch pretty much every day. Some days I swap midday if I have to work then come home and go to Church or on Sundays where I go to Church twice or if I'm going out for dinner etc.. Also I have a lot of watches I been collecting for 20+ years so I rotate as much as I can just so they get wound at least once a month. So my answer is A but also C.

·

Often more than once per day. But I'm... unique. 🙃

·

Every 1-2 Weeks. Sometimes there is a special-rotation. :)

I’m a two to three watch a day person! Today’s two -
