Head to Head: Tudor BB Chrono vs Breitling Navitimer

Given the volatility of the 2nd hand watch market, these two watches are actually hovering around the same price now. Both have the same B01 movement, yet both give very different feels and looks. While this Tudor was born from the innovation inspirated by its own diving and chronograph heritage, the Breitling Navitimer is heritage personified. Assuming you had the power to get either one, which one are you getting and why?

The Navitimer is an icon (sorry) but the Tudor isn't.

The subdials easier to read without the snowflake obscuring it.

Breitling has much more brand cashê than just being a "cheaper Rolex" (non WIS have heard of Breitling, but are far less aware of Tudor)

·

Breitling is waaaaay to busy for me.

Tudor has that damned snowflake.

I pass on both.

·

I Love the Tudor Chrono but the Breitling Navitimer is an Icon, Many might not like that busy dial but it is a true pilot's tool watch.

·

Navitimer for the same reason as the others. I really like the Tudor, but the Navitimer is an horological icon.

·

Navitimer for me, as I like the fact that you can do some simple maths with the slide rule.

·

I’d go Tudor in almost every case, except this one. The Navitimer just looks better and it has the horological icon status.

·

I chose the Tudor.

I find the navitmer to be an attractive watch, but far too busy.

The B01 movement is very good, but I don't enjoy winding it. It feels so tight. I've compared several Tudor and Breitling watches with this movement and all of them felt the same. It's my only issue with it.

Tudor. Navi too busy looking. I am never going to use either for timing/measuring etc so I go just on looks.

·

Tudor, the Navi is way to busy

·

Navi 💯 💪

·

The Navitimer is (as stated multiple times above) an icon. It's recognizable from across the road. The Tudor is another bicompax with Snowflake hands.

The business of the Navitimer has purpose and gives it unique character. It also reminds me of my late father who owned the older Valjoux version. For this reason alone it is the clear winner.

·

I prefer the functionality of the three sub-dial Breitling, but the dial is too busy. The Tudor wins for me on that basis.

·

Tudor for me( of course).

I understand and respect the heritage of the breitling but I wouldn't use the functionality and there is too much going on with the dial. The Tudor is cleaner and I do love a snowflake hand.

I also reckon Tudor is much more widely recognised amongst the public, perhaps not as much as breitling but its getting there?

·

Breitling. Definitely has the more interesting dial for me.

·

The Navitimer. Didn't even have to think about it.

·

I went with the Navi. I am a Tudor fan but it is more classic. If it was up to me my choice would be the sinn 903.

·

I have a soft spot for the Navitimer as it was my dad's grail. I don't share his feelings but will still say it's the better watch.

·

I will always be won over by a bicompax panda over any other chrono.

·

Actually I would prefer the Breitling. But in relation to the price (without knowing the price but guessing) I would prefer the Tudor.

But honestly I would buy the Sinn 903 .

·

Both are attractive, but I've enchanted by the Navitimer much longer that than Tudor.

·

I’d get the breitling mainly cause I have a Chrono that looks like the Tudor.

·

Flyin-B FTMFW!

·

The Breitling only because a chrono should be able to count up more than 1 hour.

PS I believe the Tudor still uses a Breitling movement.

·

Veey hard call from me, but I went with the navitimer due to its iconic status. The tudar looks great and I love the panda dial but it's not unique.

I think there are a wide range of navitimer dials which also look great. What ever your choice, I hope you enjoy the watch. They are both great

·

I’m probably the only one here who has the Tudor and is actively saving up for the Navitimer 😹 both appeal to me!

·

Both gorgeous 👍🏻 personality, I’d go for the Navitimer since I already have the BB Pepsi GMT, and olive the Navitimer classic design, plus I don’t own a Breitling yet and I love experiencing different brands

·

Never thought I’d be picking a Breitling over a Tudor but clearly my tastes are changing!

·

Both watches are cherry 🍒 but given the size and profile personally I would choose the Tudor the vintage vibe really suits me better …!!

·

I find it amusing that after more than 270+ voters, the count is virtually the same. This was a much closer head to head than I thought it was going to be!

·

Breitling is definitely too busy and to bulky for my small wrist, Tudor easily
