Treat yo self

I need help choosing my next watch. My birthday isn't for another 4 months, but it that gives me time to save up and spoil myself a bit. My current collection is rather small, but the watches I present to you are the watches I want to add to my collection one day. I just need your help choosing which one comes next. Price isn't a factor, but style is! I don't currently possess a field watch and would very much like to add that next, but I am not opposed to a more stylish design being that of Baltic, Brew or Maen. The Lorier Falcon & Vario Trench have been the ones I've been craving more tho. Help! Please show some love to the Brew Retro & Maen Manhattan 37 since I have no more room for another poll option.

This is going to sound snarky, but I honestly don’t mean it that way.

“Don’t buy anything.”.

At least not yet.

You should buy a watch that you love and that you’ll be excited to wear, none of us can help decide what that is.

Take time, look around, and you’ll know “the right one” or at least “the right now” when you see it, can’t forget it, and feel it.

And love the Parks & Rec reference!

Glad someone got the reference!

Wow not an easy choice with these because I do like them all. But I’d go with the Lorier, they’re so darn cool and understated.

Yea i'm torn, but the Lorier & Vario have been 1A & 1B

·

Good luck. I like all of these. You have a difficult decision ahead.

·

A really really hard tie between the falcon and the summiteer

·

Have you taken a look at the Nivada Super Antarctic, that watch has mountaineering vibes and has the history to boot. Otherwise, Falcon would be my personal choice. Great build quality and wonderful founding team. The main issue with the Falcon is the waffle dial, I’m torn whether I like it or not 🤔.

·

You got some great choices. I think the Brew is the unique, or ‘fun’ choice and the Lorier the favorite amongst the classic feeling. Perhaps the Baltic is the midpoint between the two. Tough to choose. As you already have a few other watches I’m voting for the Brew.

·

Ultimately, it should come down to which one you can’t get out of your head after 4 months of thinking on it.

However, I’ve had a chance to see some of these in person, and I can’t say anything bad about the Maen or Brew, so those would be my votes.

If you’re going for a more field watch vibe, I’m drawn more to the Traska personally, it just feels like a more fun design to me. The Lorier is cool but definitely very “classic field/mountain watch” in its design.

Just took a look at the Nivada, it's a nice watch! I'm on the same boat about the Falcon waffle dial

I agree the Traska is a fun design and the green really appeals to me!

I have the Vario and it’s a lovely watch but the wretched 8 series Miyota is really noisy. I do love it but it gets comparatively little wear for that reason.

·

I have two of the Vario watch and one of the Baltic. It’s a close call but I would go for the Baltic.

Great choices! I will be of no help whatsoever!

·

I think asking complete strangers what wach you should buy seems a bit silly..JMO Buy the one you like!! Enjoy the hobby👍

·

as similar your selection is to my preferences you might as well consider kuoe watches. i‘ve considered them but eventually bought the vario trench 36mm brass (hoping for some patina action). but kuoe might be fine too!

You may also like the Baltany 1921, my personal favorite Vacheron homage this side of 5 figures.

Happy birthday in advance! 🙂

I have the Baltic MR01 (on a bracelet), and the Falcon ii. I enjoy them both quite a bit (wearing the Falcon right now 🙂). Both have hesalite crystals which ad a nice warmth to the look, but can get scratched (but also buffed out with a little polywatch).

I've been eyeing one of the integrated bracelet watches and tried on both the Maen and the Brew at Windup Watch Fair. The Brew (in my opinion is the most unique and feels surprisingly good in the hand at the price (knowing that it's mechaquartz). BTW, I normally wouldn't go for something blacked out, but the PVD coated Metric was really striking if you like that kind of thing.

I guess the question for yourself is, are you looking for something dresser like the MR01, a more all-rounder like the Traska or Falcon, old-school like the Trench, or something a little funkier like the Brew or Maen?

FWIW, I like all your options!

Between Traska and Lorier.

This is a tough choice. I have the Lorier Hyperion and absolutely smitten over it. And I have my eye on a certain Falcon. As long as you accept the beauty and the bit of care with the acrylic, they are fantastic.

I’ve heard fantastic news about Traska, not personal experience, but on my next next list.

Also sorry/not sorry in advance

Baltic hermetique?

Not to force your hand. But I’m completely smitten over my Hermetique. It’s superb (keeps excellent time so far). And it’s a #strapmonster !

Trust me, the Vario is amazing. It’s a love letter homage to trench watches and I love it.

I envy you deeply. You’ve also helped me settle on getting the brass case for my next Trench

That Maen is really sweet but ultimately I'd choose the Falcon iii. Happy early early bday 🎂
