Chasing after Grails

Inspired by @GoQuartzYourself ’s post, it got me thinking: how does our community deal with grail watch chases that span years (if not decades). Most of the time, inflation is invisible. But some grai...

Thanks man! Good luck with your research process. It’s always fun learning about new watches :).

Thanks for the wonderful greetings friends! I am a very lucky guy indeed, thanks for buying me my dream watch @vergelle. Love you!

Hey Brando,

The Bulova Hack is a sleeper. It wears comfortably and it’s matte black dial really makes the rest of the watch’s face pop under most lighting conditions.

The auto is a bit chunky but has a really cool veteran caseback. The quartz version has better dimensions imo and is the variant I went with.

Hey Trevor,

I believe the MDV 10 is listed as 38 but youtubers measure it at 36. Whereas the Duro is a ridiculous 44 haha.

This is gold, I like that one of the scenarios is what OP is asking about hahaha.

I thought it ended with “I’m not goingcto tell you how to spend money.” But actually your wife is crystal clear, “I would hold off for now.”

I appreciate how you were able to perform mental gymnastics by justifying 2.6k as being just 1k since you sold other stuff 😂. That’s totally me too 😅, girl math ftw!

Hey Mauro,

Congrats on your new GS! It looks absolutely beautiful.

Like you, I’ve been a little anxious that the 261 has been discontinued. It didn’t help that the store near me was out of stock for 2 months.

I just got a call back that the store near me recently restocked so I am taking another look at it this weekend. It’s my dream watch and like you will be my first luxury purchase. I am the bloke who drinks instant coffee, so even this one is off-brand for me but the simplicity of this GS caught my eye 🤷🏻😂.

Hey Reines,

Maligayang Kaarawan! Great looking Seiko Dolce! I love that your family didn’t just get you a vintage watch but they went all out and sourced a good condition one with original box.
