What’s your favourite watch from Rolex?

My grail for a long time has been the Rolex Daytona 116500ln and it’s easy to see why this is the most demanded and hyped watch of all time. It is just perfect in every way. I’m very pleased to own this watch and it definitely lives up to the hype even considering I payed significantly over retail price. It was definitely worth it as now the 116500ln has been discontinued for the new 126500ln. I believe the demand for this 116500 Daytona will always be more than the new generation 126500 as the 116500 had shortest run production out of the Daytona. It was produced between 2016-2023 and having the Rolex 4130 calibre is one of fhe best movements from Rolex and was introduced in 2000 with the reference 116520. What’s your favourite piece from Rolex and why?

There are a lot of beautiful favorites from Rolex but when I made my first Rolex purchase, I have decided to go for my most favorite model OP39.

Yes it is a gada yes it is elegant aesthetically appealing with no date window.. you know all those arguments that are running up and down on all youtube channels. They are true but there is more to it. For me it was not only that but the idea of this is literally where it all started. The first OP the essence of todays sportsmodels. So much history and technique. Not only a groundbreaker for Rolex but for the whole watch industry. A lot of todays watches still date back to this model family. And it feels for me like having the success of Rolex as a brand packed in one watch. So I am trying to keep the history alive a little bit and obviously my second Rolex is of course a DJ as chronologically the second big mile stone in the Rolex history.

Beautiful dial, it’s such a special watch. I really do agree that your OP 39 really does capture Rolex as a brand 😎

I’d have to say this one because it’s likely the only one I’ll ever own.

If I were choosing something new, I’d probably go with a gold or platinum Daytona. Both the Explorer 36 and no date Sub are better fits for me and my lifestyle. But I’ve reached an age where I’m ok with something a bit flashy. And I’ve discovered that I’m not above letting that be know. So maybe this

The Daytona is really cool and has grown on me lately. I think my favorite is the OP41 for its simplicity and symmetry.

·

Airking, the numbers simple

·

Love the black Daytona!

My current watches from Rolex.

  1. Twin colored Daytona.

Image

2. Batgirl.

Image

But I have 2 special watches on my buy list for 2024.

  1. Olive Green Day date.

Image

2. Blue skydweller

Image

Out of the 4 I really can’t decide between the Daytona and the Day date.

·

Daytona

·

I try not to pick favorites but my 226570 is my most worn. "The Last Rolex Tool Watch"

My Daytona from 2002

·

My exit watch is a platinum Daytona. I don’t ever expect to own one.

·

For me, Rolex is defined by the trifecta of sport watches, Sub, Explorer and Explorer II.

·

Daytona far and away my favorite. I can’t wait to get a stainless steel panda.

Amazing watch, yeah definitely see why is very much sought after. Is it called the Vader.

Anyway, wow. Great watch.

·

I don't own any but my favorite has to be the skydweller and that super cool crown system. The Daytona is a very close 2nd.

·

Cellini Rolex Ref:14699. Classy 18KT gold watch

Image
·

I'm going for the 16570 black dial.

Good size, all business, no bling.

Image
·

Mine would be the Milgauss White dial, and the Cellini Prince.

·

Tiffany dial 36 mm Oyster Perpetual. The posh version of my Traska Commuter 😉

Or a 1908….😅😜😆🤣😉

Whoops! My mind was thinking 1908 and I was looking at Cellinis🤣

·

A year ago I acquired my grail: the Pepsi GMT. However, I will always be on the hunt for a white steel Daytona, as that is one of the coolest watches I've ever tried on. I saw the 126500LN a few months ago here in Switzerland and, for some reason, it fits better on my wrist than the 116500LN. I would still consider either, though.

·

I don't have the budget for Rolex, either new or used. But forced to choose, I'd say the Submariner 5513 and 6538

·

My favorite is the one I currently have, the 214270 mk2. Its simply understated and quite underrated. This isn’t your “Rolex Bro” watch like the Sub or GMTII. not saying I wouldn’t want to have any of those but that’s my take on it. Its simplicity and history brings a smile to my face every time and it always steals most of the wrist time.

I would say my favourite Rolex would be the OP 36mm in White Blue or Black . Simple elegant and well built and accurate.

This is a picture of a 34mm(?)

·

While the rarity makes it special, I'm not a huge fan of the Daytona - I'd prefer an Omega Moonwatch for a Chrono.

For me, the iconic, best Rolex watches would be the Submariner and the Explorer series (I & II).

·

Tough, OP, Sky Dweller or Daytona full Steel.

OP I think 🤔

Could be it’s just for an example as it’s not mine :)

Just making sure... I was about to get execited if a modern 36mm with no double batons at 3/6/9 existed... I can dream.

I would like an OP WITH 369 rather than double batons ….
