Help me choose my next watch

Hello watch crunch community! I am the happy owner of a Sinn 556 I RS and I would like to extend my collection with a next piece. Here is my shortlist, please comment with the reason of your choice :) I like them all for different reasons but have to make a decision!

I think the Q is a perfect companion for the Sinn, as it represents the fun and affordable end of the watch market.

·

If it was my money, the Timex.

Since it's yours, the Speedtimer ;)

·

Of those 3, if I were you I would get the Speed Timer. It varies your dial color to give you a different look and it has a complication. Not #1 because you already have a 200m WR, and not #2 because you have a black dial.

·

I chose A. The SPB looks distinctly Seiko while the other two look like Rolex homages. That's OK but I'm wearing a Sinn 556 right now and that's my pick!

·

I think the spb albeit a diver is functionally most similar to the sinn, whereas the timex and speedtimer would introduce a new complication into your new collection.

I would go for the speedtimer, as it would give you a white dial option to go with your 556i, and give you a chronograph.

Get some 20mm straps to swap and change between the 2 and youll have a very versatile 2 watch collection.

I own a Timex Q GMT and highly recommend it. The Q's handsome and silicone strap is very comfortable. The Ronda quartz movement is so accurate that I've only adjusted the watch once in five months I've owned it - and that was to switch to Standard Time a few weeks ago.

How can you compare a dive watch to a GMT to a chronograph?  You need to determine why you are buying a new watch before you look at so many unrelated pieces.

I was going to pick the SPB313 but then went with the Panda. Especially if your getting the newest version with Red second hand. Speedtimer SSC911

If it was my money…I’d pass on all three 😂

·

Speedtimer!  But that is my choice, what would you choose?

·

I say get the Timex Q to experience the GMT complication. I recently purchased a Seiko 5 GMT and just recently traveled. It felt kind of cool setting the time when the plane landed. I also think you'll appreciate it if you don't travel as just a 24hr hand.

·

I would normally say the 313, but that speedtimer is pretty awesome.

I have been eyeing the 313 for a while now, and tried one on over the weekend at the local AD. It's probably my next watch.

·

Do you travel a lot? If so, I'd say go with the Timex Q GMT. If you swim or work/live/what have you near a watery enviroment, go with the Seiko Diver. If you like the chronograph, go with the Speedtimer though I second @whitesalmon's suggestion, go with the new one.

·

The Seiko SPB313 has the potential to be a great watch if you get one without alignment problems and/or a drifting movement. Therefore it's my first choice.

The Q Timex get the second choice because while it's a great affordable GMT, I personally don't like the hand set and the color scheme.

The third and last choice is the Seiko SCC Speedtimer. The useless 24Hr register and the weird  placement for the date window are an no go for me.

·

I had to vote for the Q. Every collection needs some fun, and a Q is a good way to add that.

·

I would go for the speedtimer if I was in your situation. I used to have the one with the gold dial. It was super comfortable and loved how it looked. I also appreciated it was solar quartz so it would be one less mechanical watch I had to worry about setting/winding. I ended up selling to fund towards another watch, but hope to buy that panda one in the future.

·

I'm not buying but if any one will be given to me for free, I'll take the Speedtimer. 😁

Thank you for your feedback!

What attracts me in the Speedtimer are its dimensions and I feel like the new one loses this advantage.. Why would you recommend the new one other than for the red second hand?

·

These are all great choices but I have to agree with @Velomax , they’re all so different.

I‘m going to give my heavily biased opinion and say the 313, but I own one. I posted a review a few weeks ago about my experience.

·

I'd go with the Seiko SPB313

·

All three are different styles, so it is difficult to say.

So I have the one you're thinking about. The reasons I would get the new one are. The lume is much better. the size change is confusing while it's a 1mm wider it's actually 1 mm shorter. I don't like the retro aging on the hands as it doesn't match the dial. The new version just blends together better and well I like the red second hand. Kind of the cherrie on the cake.

Now don't get me wrong I love my speed timer and I'm not going to get the new one anytime soon. Just thought I'd give you my 2 cents since you asked

·

I'd go with the SPB; I'm not into the others at all.

Hey, it's a good point that was raised by many others. Since I am only starting my collection I will eventually end up with all of those complications, so the order of which I acquire them does not matter  as I do not NEED a GMT or a Chronograph in my everyday life.
So this is how I determine why I am buying a watch: Do I like it and do I think I will wear it?

·

Sounds like the SPB will be your sweet spot.

·

The chronograph would be my selection.

Okay I've had a chance to get some wrist time with the new one. And I would stick with your original choice based on sizing.
