Seiko speedtimer panda review - 3 months later

There is a lot to say about my speedtimer.. It's now been almost 3 months and I have to say, it's been the perfect duo with my Sinn 556 I RS. (Building my collection slowly, I have all life (: )

I am glad I didn't get the newer version as many recommended, I just love the look and size of this one.

Let's get into what I love about it first :

  • The dial is so clean, absolutely beautiful and readable. No problems with alignment, and I am mental about this.

  • The movement is just incredible. I average the advertised +15s a month. It's just always up and running, the battery life of 6 months is insane.

  • The pushers for the chrono are actually a lot more "clicky" than what I was expecting from watching other reviews. I can start an stop without looking at it, that's all I need.

  • The size and proportions are just nailed. I have a 18.5 cm wrist and this wears perfectly. It's not too thick, the bezel is thin and doesn't take away from the dial, it's just perfect to me.

  • The power reserve indicator is just a feature I really enjoy on all watches. Of course, it's always full 😅

And now for what could be better :

  • The 24h sub-dial is absolutely useless.. It doesn't even serve in the chronometer function since it stops at 1h! 🤯

  • Related to my precedent point, since power is such a non issue with this watch, being able to mesure up to 24h would have been magical since it could give the second hand an all day purpose if started at the beginning of a minute!

That's it for this review, I absolutely love this watch, let me know what you think!

Here is another picture on a different bracelet, ready for this summer 😎

You are so right. Have the same Speedtimer since Nov 2021. love wear the watch on and on. Was since some time a smaller watch for me. Just inspiring. Get going 🚀

I love this thing! Get me some Pandas!! I'd have a hard time deciding between the white or sky blue (limited edition) dials. There are also some pretty sweet JDM train themes that I've seen on Skaura Watches. But I'm not into trains enough to warrant getting one.

You have some killer watches in you collection. I did see your Panda! Thank you for sharing. I also have a little sweet spot for your SPB143.

Good review, like weedge, it’s been on my list for a long time. I’ll end up with one of these sooner or later.

I love this watch and my only complaint is that i wish the 60 minute subdial was bigger. I have a hard time reading it when I’m making coffee in the morning or timing my sons in a foot race. The proportions of everything else on this panda is perfect and I feel like the newer ones would be too big.
