Must have accesories for your watch?

What are some accsories that you think are good to have as a watch collector? Personally, i have a digital vernier caliper that i use to make my own measurements on my watch so that i can compare and feel how a watch is going to wear on me. I also have a cheap watch tool kit that i use to change bracelets and straps, as well as size my bracelets.

Recently purchased calipers and a UV light. The most important accessories are straps, specifically quick release ones.

·

A decent set of spring bar tweezers and a microfiber cloth.

·

A watch box. Storage for straps. Polywatch.

I have a leather watch roll, and find the soft inside perfect for putting my watch face down for any light watch work (strap or battery replacement).

A clean shirt to wipe them down.

·

Straps, straps, and more straps, some calipers, link pin pusher, a few polishing cloths, possibly some polywatch, and are you even a watch enthusiast if you don’t have approximately 437 random springbar tools strewn about various shelves, pen cups, and drawers?

·

Have 2 watch boxes, a 2 watch winder, some tools and couple straps.

somewhere to keep your collection where they arn’t just piled up, spring bar tool, watch case opening tool, and/or 00-000 Philips driver for batteries/ movement tinkering, polywatch… a glasses cloth for polishing/ cleaning.

that would be what I use most often I think, tho I have a few other tools for more in depth tinkering like a crystal press and tweezers, many many screwdrivers, hand puller and installer, Rodico… really want a timegrapher but haven’t picked one up yet.

need to get some watch tool vendors together

·

I bought a little food scale at Target for $8 so I can see how many grams Im dealing with as watches come into my possession. It’s a nice little tool when looking thru strap combos of Leather, Nylon & Steel.

·

Cocktail sticks!

Best thing for changing straps as long as you have drilled lugs.

·

If you change batteries, then a cheap kit for the screw on case back and a snap in lever kit for the solid case back.

·

For those who like tinkering, a good pair of tweezers is a must-have. A rubber ball caseback opener is a life-saver.

·

Spring at tweezers are a must. I would add a hammer and block, in addition to to regular tweezers and a plier for bracelets adjusted with pins, a mini screwdriver for bracelet adjustment, and a regular spring bar tool. Polywatch and microfiber cloths. Calipers a a fun to have, and so is a loop.

·

cheap watch tool kit and a timegrapher. and lots of Rodico!!!!

·

Patience and a calm demeanor

A clean shirt to wipe them down.

True-dat! lol

·

The best basic tools you can afford, work your way up from there as you need things.

·

I have a springbar tool, a pin pusher, a 1.7mm screwdriver, winder (free with a watch), microfibre cloths, various storage options. Don’t feel the need to accurately measure dimensions or timekeeping.

·

Don't forget the rubber ball to remove case backs without scratching.

·

Polywatch. Microfiber. Springbar tool. Baggies of springbars.

Calipers, eh to each their own? 🫣

·

All the good real ones have been taken, so I’ll go with humor.

Calipers, tools for swapping and sizing straps. Tools to remove case backs if you have quartz watches so you can change your own batteries. A time grapher is fun but not a must. Some say winders but my studies show don’t do it. Nice case to keep the dust off.

·

Multiple Bergeon microfiber gloves, many microfiber cloths, a UV torch, loupe, valet tray, watch roll, watch box, watch winder(s) [depending on how many watches you have], cleaning pens (AIS ChronoPen), Timegrapher, strap tools, extra straps.

·

I have most of the tools and accessories mentioned here, but the one that I use the most are the calipers.

·

That small pin that opens the SIM card hatch in phones. Perfect for micro adjustment on clasps.

·

Digital microscope, timegrapher, ultrasonic cleaning tank, demagnetiser. Tweezers, screwdrivers, oilers, oil, grease, loupes. The list goes on.....
