Blizzard Watches!?

2-4’ predicted for my hometown! So, what are your top picks for snowy watches? Best inspired by snow? Best to wear in a blizzard?

Stay at home

I don't love steel if it's really cold. A nato strap isolates a bit against the cold steel at least 😊

·

I'm having flashbacks of my many years living in North and South Dakota...

As far as the watch to wear in those conditions, seems Polar Explorer II would be the obvious choice for me.

But aren't there G-Shocks that can resist cold temperatures? I heard of Pro-Trek but I doubt you'd rock it as a fashion piece

As a native Floridian, I can't say that I have ever had that problem. but in bad weather I usually go with the trusty old G-shock.

·

Gshock or anything on a rubber strap.

Any watch on a bracelet ends up too lose in cold weather, and I refuse to resize them because I'm lazy.

Got our first dusting of snow this morning. I'm already over it...

I've been waiting for winter so I can bust out my NamokiMods Snow Beast.

A big hearty watch that’s unphased by conditions and I won’t weep if destroyed in a sledding accident.

The first rule of watch wearing in the snow?  You have to be able to FIND the watch if you drop it. 😉

Here's what I'm wearing through our 15° (F) day today.

I was hoping to see a GS Snowflake!

·

I’m all about natos and leather straps in the winter. As for the watch, I like the idea of a warm colored dial. Although I personally don’t own any.

I like your style. It snowed where I live and I’m rocking a Sinn 556i on a TGN grey nato today.

Well that looks a lot like my yard right now. :(

I've never really thought about it but I have Blue/Yellow Watches and Black/Gray Watches. As soon as the snow drops the Blue/Yellow selection is retired until Spring or I get away on a warm vacation

I still wear my automatics and steel bracelets. If the watch freezes up I likely have bigger concerns like no body heat due to death lol

For cold weather, how about the US edition of the Seiko Turtle, you know, the one they advertise with a picture of it frozen inside a block of ice. 😎

For relating to snow, it would have to be an appropriate piece from Grand Seiko. 😁

Living in California, near the Pacific, I can’t say that I worry too much about blizzards but in inclement weather, this is my GoTo…

Bright orange G-Shock.

In those conditions it always reminds me that Finish saying:

  • Summer is my favorite week of the year.

Winter in winter ☃

The Falcon II. May have a chance to show it with the snow next week.

It went up Everest, so I guess that counts

And here’s my A404, actually in the snow

Same. Also why would someone wear a watch with a white dial in snowy conditions (Hence why I didn't took the Polar Explorer II very seriously. White on white?) Snort

I’ve been looking at Lorier for a while. Nearly pulled the trigger on their diver. You like the Falcon?

Absolutely! Very solid, especially for the price. Curious to see the upcoming releases (Astra, etc).

If I wanted to add something useful to the conversation I would say that titanium is really nice because other than being lightweight it also doesn't transfer heat like steel.

If my arm is gonna stay dry then titanium watch with nato is my favorite in winter.

Image

But if it's gonna get wet then a G shock or maybe full titanium band if you have a good one.

I still really want to try one with a quick size adjust to find out if it's as comfy as nato.

The regular ones without the micro adjust are just too tight and too loose at different times of the day.

Might try this one someday.

Any of my 20mm lug width watches, with this nato. We had 8in fall overnight. Yikes!

You need the gingerbread man in a cup of hot chocolate watch!

Sorry I can't relate to those conditions living in Australia. We do get snow but only in certain area's, but not where I live.
