Woo hoo! We're up to two. 😉
Well, let me know if you ever want to meet up. Two is infinitely better than one. Maybe we can find others along the way.
I have a 856i that is tegimented, and while I wouldn't go so far as to compare it to a truly polished case, it is definitely more brushed than bead blasted. Since Sinn doesn't talk much about their process, I'm not 100% sure which surface finishing processes can receive the treatment.
As further information, the bracelet and clasp are also treated, and they have facets that I would say are nearly polished. So I'm guessing that it's just a design choice they're making, not that it can only be done for certain surface finishes. That being said, unless they release more information (not likely), then I think guessing is the best we can do.
No tegimenting on the 556i, unfortunately. That's only available with some other models. But I completely agree with your choice. It's a stunner of a watch and hard to overstate how amazingly DEEP black the dial is. Makes most other black watches look grey in comparison.
Clearly only you can answer the question of how much it bothers you and whether or not it would affect your enjoyment of the wearing experience. But if it DOES have a negative effect, could you look into getting it re-housed? I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap, but perhaps it would be less than the loss you'd suffer by flipping it. The other variable to consider is whether you appreciate that watch for the memories you've made with it, or if replacing it with a similar/same model would suffice for your needs.
