Cristopher Ward New release

Hi guys,

Look what CW did. I love it, alot. What do you think?

Edit: Apologies for this duplicate post, appreciate the good and honest feedback.

I think the Good Lord invented the watch dial for a reason and that skeletonized watches are an abomination in His sight. But that’s just me.

·

Personal I’m not a fan of skeleton watches 😅 I prefer the original Twelve, although I’d pick the mulberry C63 over all of them

·

Skeleton is transparently a bit Marmite for people, but personally I'm going to let this one percolate in thought for a while.

·

I personally am not a fan of a skeleton watch as - for me - it seems harder to read the time at first glance...just to look at is great, but not for me if it's to read the time 😅

·

I find that impossible to read and disappointing.

·

I am not the biggest fan of this particular skeleton dial though it is growing on me, will wait for some videos.

I have a C63 Sealander which i love, but i think Christopher Ward is definitely reaching with the price for this one. Its squarely in Tudor/Omega territory and for a bit more, used zenith so it will be interesting to see how they sell.

·

I think it’s beautifully made and looks great, that said I’m not a skeleton design fan but I do appreciate this watch and the clever design with the box glass underneath. 4k is a big price for this! But then if you saw this made by the more established names with an 8k price tag you probably wouldn’t question it.

·

Too big, too skeletony, too integrated bracelety. It's a no from me.

·

Not a fan skeleton watches. And this one I really don't like

·

Very bad legibility so not my favourite unfortunately.. I love CW other collections though!

·

I don’t like skeletonised watches, but this is one of the better I’ve seen recently. Although the bridge it the right from the handset is really ugly.

·

Not for me, but I think this is a fantastic halo watch for the brand and puts their truly in house SH21 movement on show.

For Day 1 superfans, this makes sense. A Zenith Defy is around the same price secondhand, but nobody was cross shopping this with a secondhand Defy anyway I assume.

They might be cross shopping it with an Oris ProPilot X though, in which case I think the Christopher Ward wins by some way!

·

I am just fine with the original twelve for £800...

·

Funny, the skeletonisation is the only bit I like!!

Dislike titanium

Dislike integrated bracelets

Can't believe the price!! They're not Tudor or Omega.

I get it's their "hero product" but they're in danger of disappearing up their own jacksy...

·

I think I'd need to see a wrist shot or in the flesh to make a final judgement, publicity pictures are too shiny for me

I think it's an absolutely fantastic release from CW. The SH calibre is a real beauty and I love the work they've done on the bridges for this watch.

People complaining about legibility just need to put their glasses back on or buy a Pope style Swatch.

You just know that if CW are charging 4k, you're getting a hell of a lot more watch than if you spent the same with other manufacturers!

If soneone doesn't like a watch it's irrelevant the value vs what you get.

I never said anything to the contrary 😌

·

Wow, $5k is a big jump up market for them. But the specs seem legit. They just forgot to add the date window.

·

Not a fan of skeleton but good piece of art is always nice to see

·

Big CW fan. Not a fan of the Skeleton at all. It's an impressive piece but it's money. Not for me....

·

Huge amount of hype for this watch in the WC forum and I'm having a hard time reading anything else 😀

Skeletonized watches have never appealed to me, mainly because they tend to obscure the visibility of the hands. After all, we do occasionally glance at our watches to tell the time!

It looked like Zenith and the AP Royal Oak had a baby. And if we are going to talk appeal, it won't be spoken of as much as an El Primero and a Royal Oak.

·

Looks very nice. Not a fan of skeletonized pieces and the cost is beyond logic but it has some appeal.

·

CW has stopped making watches for me.

Yeah, I’m afraid that I find it ugly and illegible. I knew they were teasing a skeletonised watch, which had me disinterested in the first place, but seeing it was more tedious than I’d imagined.

Pity.

·

At first I thought they were crazy with the price. But looking at what it is I think it is justified and I want it. I bought a Zelos Mirage 8 Day a couple of years ago for $3,900. With the time since that was released and the ever upward cost of well everything I get the price. This has better case/bracelet finishing and an in-house movement.

People say it pushes Tudor, Omega, GS, Zenith etc but what thare they doing that compares to the movement and finishing of this 1? The only close 1 would be the Zenith but I think the SH21 is more impressive than the Zenith 3 hand movement. This is the only SH21 watch I like because the thickness isn't crazy.

Big improvement with notches for the hours over the C60 Apex.

·

Not a huge fan of skeletons, but I think it looks good! The 5 day power reserve and movement are impressive

·

I really like it, I still gravitate more towards their bronze Dune watches and I would much rather get a Nivada Gretchen F77 over this but this is really nice.

·

Yes but no but.. I like it , it is too pricey for a CW and the integrated bracelet is a no for me.

·

I’m not too into skeleton, but CW keep delivering so much value 👏🏻

·

They seem to be getting a pass on the name The 12-10.
