Which watch to buy?

For those who saw and voted for my previous poll, yeah I deleted it because I found a third watch that could be a great option as well. So, I am all set to add another piece to my collection. I have two great options but I would like the WC community's opinion on it. Here is some information: My wrist size is 6 inches My collection is almost all black dials (One being blue) I am only a high-school grad, so every dollar counts... These were the only deals I was able to get.

That is a tough choice. As someone who owns a comprable group, obviously the answer is all three! #timex x Todd Snyder, #vostok 720059, #casio Duro:

You could probably buy the Timex and the Casio, then put aside alittle move over a couple of week or so for the Vostok!

On the vostok: 512 is a black dial. Are you thinking of the 120849? I think the 849 dial is a sort of silver/sunburst kind of colour which always looks a bit "tan" in photos:

I'll say Vostok if you can find one for a reasonable price (I hear they've gone up in price?); it'd be the most interesting (read quirky) of the three. Can't go wrong with the Casio Duro either. As for the Weekender, try an Expedition Scout; more of a "Field Watch" aesthetic (i.e. Hamilton Khaki) and a cooler looking piece IMHO.

I had a Timex Weekender for many years. The ticking sound of the second hand is noticeably loud. I voted Duro (which you should be able to get for under $50). Throw it on an inexpensive bracelet or a more expensive bracelet and no matter which one choose, you’ll have a great-looking watch with a screw-down crown and 200m of water resistance. Can’t go wrong.

I would recommend the Casio Duro, very versatile for the price. But the dimensions of the watch are kind off big, so you should try one on first, if you can. Can't go wrong with Casio.

·

Just to throw a curve ball into your choices, have you checked out ADDIESDIVE watches?

Sapphire lens, screw-crowns reliable Seiko movements, cheaper than the Vostok and quite a few different models

I would vote duro because it still remains one of my favorite daily beater watches. Just swap out the strap for anything else and it's amazing.

·

The Duro is popping up in Walmarts around the U.S. (on clearance) for $11.00, currently. If you can snag one, then that's the best value, hands down.

I ordered mine from the Walmart website about two weeks ago, for $49. (Way better than your stated price of $70.)

In either case, Duro is still the best bang for your buck. ✔

Save your money and buy a Hamilton Khaki field.

·

One more thing: Amphibias are dead quiet. Timex aren't. Dunno about Duros.

·

The Duro is massive, you can get a reasonably sized Timex easily.

·

I have or have had all three. The duro is too large for a 6 inch wrist (mine is 6.5" and it's too big). Timex aren't bad and the weekender is a great entry level watch but I vote for the Vostok since it's automatic and much more unique.

·

I have an old Timex Weekender that I have had for years and it is still on the original battery. The old Timex slogan was "Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'" That is certainly true for mine. I also like the Indiglo feature which is very handy at night. It's my "travel" watch for that reason in case I have to check the time because I woke up in the middle of the night because I hate hotels.

·

The Timex Weekender is a good choice if you like to hear ticking all the time. Great easy-to-read and very tough watch, but too loud for me. I won't buy another.

People are saying the Casio is too big. One can pull off wearing a larger watch, just wear it with confidence. I have a 7" wrist and wear Grand Divers, which are much bigger and heavier than the Duros, with no problem.

My vote is the Casio.

Weekender all day every day. Gotta go for that Field watch, plus indigo pleases my chimp brain (hehe me press button watch light up).

You have a similar sized wrist to mine, so going off my own experience the Duro is way too big and won't look right or sit comfortably.

Let me tell you, if you pay $170 for a Vostok you WILL feel shafted.

Ergo, process of elimination means Weekender

I would choose the Casio Duro because it is beautiful, versatile and it is 200 WR, but could be too big for you. So, the Timex would be the next.

Wow those r some good prices. Unfortunately, I don't live in the US, I converted the prices to dollars. But I can certainly check the website and see if I can get a good deal. Thanks for the info

Lol, back when I used to get watches before I knew about the dimensions, so rn almost all my watches r about 42 to 43mm large! So, ig the duro won't be anything out of the ordinary for me 😂

While the others may be a more solid choice I'm thinking you gotta have an Amphibian in your collection.
