When I started this raffle, I would have counted myself lucky to have just half of the actual level of participation and a third of the donations we actually ended up with. Three of you even donated more than once, even though it literally did zero to improve your chances of winning. Words cannot describe how proud I am of this community of watch dorks. I am honored to be among your number.
Shout out to @Max and @WatchCrunch team for creating an online community that actually has a sense of community. Anyone think something like this could happen on Instagram, Reddit, or a watch-forum-that-shall-not-be-named?
Most importantly, I want to thank the twenty three of you who donated and participated in this random internet stranger's charitable raffle/experiment. Together, we raised $1862.42 USD, 100 MYR, 110 ILS, 146.09 EUR, 20 GBP, and $26.50 CAD (just around $2000 USD at prevailing exchange rates) for charities ranging from food banks to emergency medical services to cat shelters to mental health.
$2000!
I am so pumped!
We can do great things together and I want to call each one of you out for being a part of why this is such a great watch community.
But onto the prize winners!
First, the winner of the biggest donation amount and winner of a lovely 1960s era Zodiac Olympos. This was a hard fought battle, with several big lead changes. But I am deeply pleased to say that the winner with $964.50 in donations to the Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey (which promotes Jewish life and battles anti-semitism throughout North America), Chai Lifeline (which provides support to families of chronically ill children), United Hatzallah (volunteer emergency medical services in Israel and the surrounding areas), and OneFamily (a mental health provider to victims of terrorism) is @TimeIsOnMySide.
Congratulations!
I did want to give a special shout out to @SpecKTator who led for much of the raffle with his massive donation to the Hawaii Community Foundation of $500 to assist in the rebuilding of Maui after the devastating fires earlier this year. Don't worry bud, I refuse to leave you hanging after that!
But the winner of the main event and a Wise Adamascus AD8 in that amazing red fume dial is...
@gatorcris who donated to $54 to Tech Tackles Cancer Boston which is devoted to pediatric cancer treatment and research!
You are awesome and as a gesture of goodwill, I am personally tossing in a $100 donation on top of yours.
Thank you so much for your participation and your generosity! I'll be PMing each of the winners to get their shipping details.
Enjoy your weekend and thank you for participating!

What's that? You want another? What am I, made of watches?
Okay, maybe I could have an ill advised purchase or two on the way that I will inevitably need to flip.
And how could I possibly turn down the chance to snooker, cajole, cheat and browbeat you all into donating more to the awesome causes that you already support?
Stay tuned friends.
Fin.

Congratulations!! I’m down for a repeat.
Congratulations!
@Edge168n - My dude you killed it. Round of applause for setting this up…now what the hell are you going to do for an encore?
@TimeIsOnMySide - just amazing generosity from your end. Fantastic and much needed, especially at this time of urgent need.
And to all others, well done. Be the change we want to see in the world. Together we can do hard things.
Congrats to @gatorcris ! I grew up in Boston and a few years ago was back there to assist my brother, who was fighting cancer at Beth Israel Hospital. I know they do great research in Boston. Thank you for donating to that cause.
Congratulations!! I’m down for a repeat.
100% this is going to happen again. I just bought two more dive watches....and knowing me it will be a torrid but short love affair. And all of you to benefit!
Congratulations!
Thank you for participating!
Thank you for the raffle! Excellent idea. 👍

@Mr.Dee.Bater knows exactly what I've been up to purchases wise. You can ask him to figure out just how likely I am to hold onto what I just bought....
And as an FYI.... @gatorcris

Thank you so much for the participation (and also the big donations!). WatchCrunch isn't the sort of place that all of us want to hang out at without folks like you!

I think he mentioned this before. I forgot what watch he was referring to that was on my list that you were likely to move on from 🤣😂

Let me send you a list of dive watches I want to- I mean you, should buy and then choose to give away 😉

Oh man, I am holding onto the Formex Essence 39! That watch is my JAM. I'd been looking for something that felt a bit like an OP (except not nearly as boring.). It just fits so well.
No, I am a reprobate who buys watches impulsively and so there's more fodder for everyone to bid on soon!

Oh for F sakes that was it. That’s the other watch I wanted before the Monta Noble caught my eye and now my heart. 😂

Temporary tradesies! (not even joking).
I don't actually think it really makes sense to own both the noble and the essence 39. They fit the exact same watch niche superbly.
Congratulations to @Edge168n for the great idea, to the lucky and generous winners who I hope will enjoy their new watches and to the awesome charities benefitting from the whole thing. It was real fun and I'm certainly in for the next episode. Still determined to get wise, I'll order my AD773 tomorrow.
Ally McBeal of dive watches. I understand 🤣.
Uh small skinny waif-like diver🤣
Thanks @Edge168n for puting this on and I definitely want to participate again in the next one.
Congrats @gatorcris. Watch looks great. Make sure to post some pics when you get it.
Thanks JC for organizing this.
Thank you for participating! It's been awesome seeing the impact!

Thank you for donating and participating! It's been a blast and also much more successful than I was anticipating. We are definitely going to have a sequel.

Thank you my friend! Beth Israel is amazing.

I definitely do weird stuff like this periodically (though I can't say I ever really have a real schedule).
I like harnessing everyone's competitiveness and inner gambling addict in the service of charity.
Thank you for organising and till next time! 🙋🏻♂️
