I have no regrets with my journey, and the ones that have left the collection. But I'd like to see what watches people have let go of, that they miss-yet-dont-miss!
For me I sold both my GS's, SBGA387 and SBGH269 when I realized I was babying them and was getting offers for way too much for me to justify saying no. The A387 I took to Japan and had a lot of fun with, but for a while after it wasn't getting much wrist time.
I also sold a PAM933, which at the time of purchase I was in love with, but eventually saw it collecting dust in my watchbox as I was too apprehensive to wear it.
Finally, an IWC Portugieser 150yrs Chronograph with blue enamel dial, this one I sold because it didn't make sense to me as a watch - but I loved so much how it looked. Barely 30m WR, basic chronograph functionality, 41mm and sporty-ish, yet very dressy looking and very fragile. I found this watch to be trying really hard to be both a dress piece and a sport piece, yet failing to fully deliver on either front.
What watches have left your collection that you miss, yet don't regret letting go??

I havenโt sold a watch yet. I have trade one in, the rest has been let down. Nothing fancy like yours. The ones that I let go are SeikoSKX013, Oris Aquis, CW CW63GMT and TagHeuer CV2113.
Iโve let quite a few watches go and regret very few of them so Iโm going to go with some that I was happy to see the back of.

I had a lot of hope for this watch. The brand was recommended by another cruncher, the photos looked great, and the meteorite dial intrigued me. Iโve reviewed this watch so I wonโt go into all my issues with it butI was happy to see it go.
My Dissing Chronograph
I actually liked this watch but the name got to me, and I couldnโt mive past that.
Bulova Marine Star
Actually not a bad watch but far too oversized for my wrist.
Citizen Promaster ecodrive Field Watch
I just didnโt like this one. Canโt explain why, but I moved it on pretty quickly.
The only watch I have some regrets selling is a Sinn 556. I wanted something with a slightly larger dial. It was one of the first higher end pieces I bought.
But I have a U1 ordered so a Sinn will still be in the box soon.
I donโt sell them.
Only released two, late 90s Rolex OP and '66 Speedy 105012. Also lost one, a 90s Raymond Weil auto of some kind.
I have given watches away rather than selling. As gifts they have more meaning to the recipient (I hope).
One of several Subs that have gone on to new homes but this one in particular looked ridiculously large on my wrist. No regrets.
I have sold or gifted nearly 30 watches in the past year or so. I don't miss any of them.
Before I sell them I put them away for a while, or change straps, or wear them in off hours. I give them one last chance.
I liked this watch. I just had difficulty reading it.
I recently sold off My Tudor bb36, I just wasn't wearing it, I always picked up my GS instead
My Seiko Cotail Time Hojicha was dead on arrival so I had to get a refund but should have just sent it to a shop to get it fixed ๐ฅฒ
I certainly wouldn't let any of those go. I'm getting ready to liquidate too. The regret I feel is that they represent funds diverted I could have channeled into something I truly loved. I doubt I'll feel regret once those slots in my watch box are empty.
You guys let go of watches? ๐
Hoarder here๐ i haven't sold any yet (except for that one seiko that had very misaligned chapter ring. I sold it for half price to a friend that offered to take it and i turned right back around to buy the exact same model so i think that cancels out๐)

Really depends if the recepient appreciates watches and/or knows of the brand they are receiving. Just my personal experience of course. ๐
I have sold some Timex watches, a Heimdallr Sea Ghost NTTD Edition, two Orient divers and some Seikos

It's all just the feels and how it works out. Fortunately I didn't lose any money on these ones, but there have been some I have lost on. But I don't like being in it for "the flip" as some would say

Hey the first step is admitting it! ๐๐ I def think that cancels it out lol
That Panerai looks totally fake
Lol baseless accusation.
Regrets!!!
I'm a sucker for field and pilot styles man!! ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ
I regret my Edmond Allen's Bertucci sale... They only made a certain amount...
You're breaking the rules!! Except that's a really good trade IMO, so I'll support ya ๐
Let go? Hmmmm that's a thing not sure I understand. ๐ณ

I gave this Brew Retromatic to my brother a few months back. Itโs a great watch but I found myself wearing it less and less. Heโs also been working with coffee for a long time and Iโm stoked he has it, sometimes Iโd like it back but I know itโs in a good home and Iโve plenty of other watches to keep me company.
Selling my watches feels like leaving a box of puppies in an abandoned parkinglot. I just canโt. ๐
I only gift watches.
Here are a few that I have gifted over the past couple of years...
I've never sold a watch.
But what is the best way to do so?
Meaning how do you get the most amount of money in a safe and secure way?
Honestly this is why I can't buy a grand seiko. I'm clumsy and fairly active, so I treat my dress watch the way others treat their beaters.
I want my collection to be stuff I wear and love, so I can't have anything that's too beautiful and pricey to be a safe queen

Yeah imo wise make amazing watches (i own one myself) but that one is a miss. Maybe with other colours and in a smaller size it'd look better
I actually had to sell of my IWC Le petit prince on the strap because the bracelet is almost impossible to buy separately. So I sold off my strap version and am about to purchase the bracelet version. The strap can be purchase quite easily.
