Venezianico Nereide 39 mm Review - Good Seiko alternative?

Seiko is a wonderful brand, but people do have their gripes with them. For one, some of their bracelets for watches under $500 are mediocre at best. T...

Its definitely one of the coolest watches in my collection, I do highly recommend them. If you do care if its original or not make sure the movement is stamped with the letters and numbers mine has, and that the crystal looks like this. There are A LOT of franken watches out there. Most won’t have the CCCP mark near six o clock that mine does.

If it’s sitting in a drawer I don’t see the point.

This is precisely why I will probably never own another mechanical chronograph. They are just too expensive to maintain.

I think the movements are good for the price (particuarily their spring drive movements), and the dials look amazing. I just think the case finishing isn’t on par with Swiss brands that are in the same price bracket.

For me it’s just okay. It has a beautiful dial that gets a lot of compliments, and the case finishing feels great for the price. However 9 times out of 10 when I push the crown in after I’m done setting setting the watch, the hands move backwards or forwards a little bit.

Not sure it’s a defect with my particular model or if they all are like this, but it’s frustrating enough that I don’t wear it very often.

For me my go to is my Vostok Apmpibia. Looks and runs great, and it will never break.

The crystal has a pretty odd beveled shape to it as well. Of all the Soviet Watch brands, Slava definitely had the most unique designs.

Fix it or toss it in a random drawer and forget about it?

My Poljot 3133 chrono needs a full service, as it is no longer keeping accurate time. It also needs to be replated, as the chrome plating is starting to flake off the case near the pushers. I’m thinki...
