Yema Flygraph Flieger or Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer?

Now that I have a better job and have miraculously been able to stop my habit of buying Soviet/Russian watches, I can finally start consider a watch that is around $1,000 very soon. As someone who is studying to be a pilot, and likely will get there within two years, a pilots watch is definitely something that I am gravitating towards.

Now, I have two pilot style watches, but they both have their issues. My Laco Augsburg is great. It’s legible, has acceptable accuracy for my standards, and comfy to wear. However, the Myota movement I found doesn’t take shocks or any fast movements very well. I was wiping a table last week and realized that was enough for the second hand to stop moving.

My second pilot style watch is my Poljot 3133 Chronograph. It would do the job very well, if it didn’t need a full service and new chrome plating that is. I’ve already talked about it in a poll, but I’m honestly not going to put in $1,000 worth of work into a watch that’s only going to be worth $300 on a good day, even if it is a family heirloom.

I have fairly skinny wrists, so my options for a watch that won’t look funky on my wrist in this category are quite limited. I’ve come down to two options, the Yema Flygraph Flieger and the Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer.

The Yema right now is my favorite. I really like the French Air Force background, fully in-house caliber, and titanium case. However, I have heard a few horror stories online about people receiving broken watches and poor customer service.

I don’t like the dial design of the Hamilton as much, and I’m not a fan of that leather strap at all. But I see nobody complaining about Hamilton’s quality, and that 80 hour power reserve sounds very nice.

So, what does Watch Cruch think? Should I go for 🇫🇷or 🇨🇭?

I'd go with the Hamilton, the dark grey dial and dull yellow numerals is a classy look.

That style can be worn all day and not look out of place, well, a black tie party is a stretch too far.

Yema !! I think it does have a better Flieger style and it has a vert well integrated date, which is a great bonus in my opinion !

I’d say go with the Yema if you like it more. If you go for your second option you will be ok for a month and then you will be buying your first option anyway…

Hamilton by a mile for me. A diver with cathedral hands is quite rare. I like it, as it fits.

The strap on the Hamilton you can change. But if you like the yema more, then go what fits you. Don't care about others.
