Pick the watch in your collection is the most 'you'

I think it's fair to say that our watches are a projection of us. Either what we want to be seen as; or what we are. Perhaps a facet of our personality or day job.

So, take a look at your collection and pull out the watch you think is the most you.

This isn't 'flex your best watch' - unless your best watch is you, of course! If you own a Submariner, for example, but you're a really colourful personality, best demonstrated by your colourful, $100 Swatch - that's the one to post, not the Subby.

Take a moment. Think about it. Let's see how our personalities, beliefs, day jobs, and whatever else we think defines us to the world, are best reflected in ONE watch.

For mine, it's my Tudor Heritage Ranger.

I'm a practical guy, and this is a practical watch. It's not very flashy.

It's also a watch that many people don't rate. "It should have been smaller!" so many people cried, until Tudor cancelled the watch and did indeed make a smaller one.

But to me, this is perfect. It fits my wrist like it was made for me. I love the little smile on the dial. While so many say it's wrong and needed to go, I say it's oh-so-right.

And I think that's me, in a nutshell. Practical, and happy to go against the grain.

Raymond Weil The Beatles LE. The Beatles became one of my favorite bands in college and RW was one of the first nice brands I ever owned so when the two came together it resonated for me

I've come to really think this is the one that best represents me. Straight to the point. No, nonsense. Remembers other more famous exploring watches, without the highest specs, but it's pretty much it's own. Maybe not the fanciest one, but robust and precise enough to make the job when needed. Versatile. Hides nothing.

My SLGH009. It’s practical but also a bit classy when needed. And can adapt as needed to fit the situation.

Quirky, coffee loving, gaming nerd.

I’ve thought about this before and have even considered posting this question. I’m not sure why, but I have always considered myself a pepsi Seiko Diver. I have two of them (SKX015 amd SBCM025). These do not get as much wrist time as other watches I own, but I still identify with them the most.

Image

I would say of the two, I’m more like the SKX. Even as a kid, I’ve always been more of an old soul. I think the 7s26 movement captures that better than the 8F HAQ perpetual calendar in the SBCM.

My Timex is me. Boring as hell. Just made to work and get thrown away when I can’t work anymore.

The second I put it on, this is "me"

Cuz it shines like a diamond…and more than meets the Eye… simple elegant, smart and can adapt to situations plus it’s Sexy so well that fits the bill right 😜

I like to choose all inclusives resorts with really good food at the cheapest price. Ain't that many around...

Draken Aoraki probably the most me watch I currently have.

·

Perhaps I did not understand the assignment, I am at office 9 to 5 from monday to friday; but a G Shock is the most me, because you can rely on me to get the job done against all adversities. In addition, my outfit usually combines jeans or cargo pants and colorful t-shirts mostly green shades.

GS Winter, goes anywhere: classy, durable, comfortable.

Always love your slgh009 post

Thanks! Clearly I’m obsessed with the thing 😂

My parents gave me this as a graduation gift when I finished university, it's not fancy, it's not mechanical, and the seconds hand never quite hits the markers, but it has my history in every scuff, scratch, and nick, it has been with me through the ups and downs of the past two decades and if all goes well the following ones too

·

My Camy Club-Star. I just love it. It's versatile, old-fashioned and gets the job done.

If I was a watch, I don't know what I'd be, but this seems close. If I was a watch, it would probably be a watch with a tweed dial, 30mm lead case, a twenty year power reserve, a thirty-jewel movement, a 16mm tweed bracelet (the individual links will be made out of epoxy-hardened tweed) and it will also smell of English Leather aftershave.

This is impossible. :)

every time i change my watch, that watch becomes me. I look down smile, probably in a matching outfit lol….

Just a tad flashy but cheap. Vintage styling but modern comfort. We are both a bit larger than we should be.

Nerdy, cool, coffee-related - 100% my watch. (Hi, @Legalkimchi 🤣)

While my Explorer has gotten more wrist time recently, I think at the end of the day I’m still more Seiko than Rolex:

Let me see, do I have an overweight, out of shape, washed up watch? Yeaaaah, it’s gonna have to be a weird one as well, something that’s well out of fashion, and terribly cheap, finicky, and delicate. Probably something vintage, but I haven’t found it yet.

Really liked your description (watch ain't too shabby either).

I’ve realized over the past several years that only one speaks to my personality and it is my Tudor BB bronze, 43mm.

Nothing else to say.. simply mega cool 😁😂

My Grand Seiko Shunbun SBGA413 is in fact my best watch, but it’s also the one that’s the most “me.” It’s unlikely to draw anyone’s attention from across a room, but upon closer inspection has so much to offer. I only have a few watches, but most of the others feel like a different personality I can try on if the mood strikes me. This one just feels like home. I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it.
