Why did you buy your G-Shock?

Which model did you choose?

Why did you choose it in particular over the others?

I chose the Rangeman model because I liked all the extra features it has and the fact it is built like an absolute tank!

·

Because it was cheap 👍

·

Chose the GBD-200, like the one in the picture, for the look and a little more functionality above the 5600. The step and distance tracking are what I was looking for. The bluetooth auto time adjustment is cool too.

·

I picked the GW-002KA because I liked the idea of a solar powered , radio controlled watch that I could set my other watches to. It was a new feature to me.

That was 17 years ago and it's still getting the signal nearly every night here on the east coast.

I also liked the strap. It was called the "Rain Forest.

I got the old gw-m5610u-1ber. I love the all black design while also being pretty slim so it fits under the cufs. I mostly wear it at work because I don't have to worry breaking it if I knock it against something.

·

I only tend to buy gshocks with tough solar and mb6, that way I can just wear them and not worry about anything.

·

I have a few GShocks but in one example, I chose my GD350 due to the vibration feature I wanted and this style was newer than the other vibe alerts 735 or 736 units out there. Plus it was on sale at the time😉

·

I buy g shocks because they are g shocks. I generally have no use for most of the functions, but who gives a sh1t 😂

·

I bought the different models in my collection because of the different features amd abilitues my watches have. Some purely for the looks, but these are somehow rare

·

I chose the MRGB5000D1 because I think it is a grail tier tool watch that is both high quality materials & finish. It is the ultimate expression of the Square, & the square being the original GShock, a design that has stood the test of time (40 years). The functionality of GShocks is very practical and useful to have. Idk when you know you know, this watch was made for my wrist.

It has moon and tide phases, but no idea how they work or how to set them and I just don't care 😂

·

I got two, first the excellent GBD 200

But I wanted solar and multiband so I then got

I thought I would sell the GBD to fund the new one, but I like the negative display so much I can't let it go ! I got a G because of a tough, fit for purpose and put on and don't worry watch.

Bought my first GA-2100-1A1 Black because I liked the look and wanted something more water resistant and rugged than other cheap Casios to take on Canoe Trips.

2nd GA-2100-NN "Digital Glitch" bought for Nostalgia reasons. Reminded me of my Gameboy & because I liked my first CasiOak so much.

Last one was back to Function. GWM5610 bought to time stuff (naps/walks,my work breaks) when we got a puppy this year.

Ayyyy and I got this badge with that last post. Haha

I just love the simple yet complex aesthetic of the all-black CasiOak (the solar bluetooth version). It has everything that makes it a no-worry, durable, accurate, functional, grab and go watch that I can wear during work (building industry). But after I bought that G-Shock, it never came to my mind to buy another (it doesn't fit in my collecting philosophy to buy similar watches).

I don't own a G-shock yet, but I'm heavily considering one of the square, tough solar models to fill the G-shock shaped hole in my collection and to serve me well during hiking, fly fishing, camping, etc. I usually wear a field watch, but this would be a lot easier to replace if I have any issues.

·

I chose the Casioak because I thought they looked better and I like analogue rather than digital displays. Cheap enough and better than AP....

Hey @casiodean I have x2 G squares.. Firstly I chose the GW-M5610U-1ER as this had all of the functions and loved the kinda of 80's retro vibe with the red details & dial text.... Then came the upgrade to the GW5000U-1 which has all the same features of the previous..however the metal casing, metal case back add a lot more weight along with the much softer more supple strap give a more more premium feel for sure, plus I love that it looks so non description that unless your in the know you would have no idea its a higher end casio....your post is very timely for me as I am currently considering a health monitoring G! Enjoy it!

Because at the Time not like now G-shock did a lot of wacky collaborations with non watch themes, so for me I like watches & Anime so when they did this Akira limited edition it was a no brainer

My Mudman was also my first G-Shock, I got at a time when I wasn't well versed about watches (but still liked them) and wanted something that could handle the rough and tumbles of at the time compulsory military service I was going for. It was kinda the only G-Shock in reach but to my luck was also one of the toughest out there. My other G-Shocks (the gray Casioak and the Earth Tones Square) I got merely for their looks.

·

The 5600E because I’m a basic beotch

My first was the Gulfman, which I used for diving 10 years ago. I made my PADI certificates with it and it is still running strong. The Casioak is new and I picked it because of the metal bezel, the positive display and the color scheme.

I haven’t got one, but I got this……… 😉

😂🤣😂🤣

Casioak, because I like the design.

·

I would have to answer this like 30 times. LOL My favorites are my 5610 and my Rangeman 9400. Like my Gulfman a lot too.

that blue Gulfman 😍

I have several G-Shocks, a couple of squares, a Mudmaster, a Casioak and the yellow green one above.

In general, I like their ruggedness, a true GADA, all much tougher than me and relatively inexpensive apart from the daft metal ones and the ‘master’ range - both of which I own LOL.

I like them as accurate, good watches.

I know it’s not a G-Shock but it’s a baby one but the F91W is more accurate than any Rolex and it’s a tenner!

·
MidwestWatchDude

that blue Gulfman 😍

It still holds a special place in my heart since it went down with me several times 30m deep for my diving lessons.

·

I reintroduced myself to gshock with the 2100p, which supports breast cancer. I like the design and features and fit. Being able to change the strap is a plus. I've gotten a few others too with different looks and I enjoy each since their tough solar.

Love these two because there are my perfect wrists size. I was around when the original came out. G shock always been a respectable hard working common man’s watch. And best of all recreational and stylish.
