Thanksgiving meal...what do you eat?

It is Thanksgiving here in the States tomorrow. A day when we celebrate being thankful and try to ignore the fact that our European ancestors wiped out millions of Native Americans. Will be a plethora of casseroles with vegetables and cheese...lots of cheese and lots of cream of mushroom soup in those casseroles. Ham, roasted chicken, pies and cornbread dressing from a 80 year old family recipe. And sweet tea, ice cold. What's on your plates this holiday?

BTW who came up with the idea of eating bland tasting yard bird! Why did they not pick something tasty like bacon.

I eat whatever my wife puts in front of me. Usually a sausage and other stuff stuffing, mashed potatos, turnip (a New England tradition for my family) Maple ginger squash, Home-made raviolis (she's Italian) and other things I can't remember-I just eat it.

I'm the clean up guy. She's the cook.

For dessert another New England tradition. Apple pie with a big old chunk of cheddar cheese.

Horween steaks with Mobius oil gravy.

·

Stuffed Turkey made with a saltine cracker base that will knock your socks off.

We have a Thanksgiving tradition here in England. In order to remember those who died in the Revolutionary war, we choose the one person in the village who drank the most booze, then we eat him. It's like a punishment for those British troops who got Blackout drunk and Let Washington get past them. So Barry and Mashed Tatties will be on our plate tomorrow. Yum yum.

We need an option C for non Americans 😉, happy thanksgiving though

I don't get it either,but somehow it works. It's a regional thing.

Have had it when I did a contract in Maine. It did not suck.

I can't do stuffing... I've never been a fan of any variety I've tried.

Dressing isn't stuffing. PM me and will share the 80 year old family recipe.

Roasted duck and crispy pork, typically no western food when my family celebrates holidays!

Political lecturing from ungrateful Americans, it seems.

Have gone vegetarian twice in my 54 years. Once for 9 months, another time for about 16 months. Felt better, had more energy, slept better, lost weight. Both times it was an all meats pizza from a local pizza joint that did me in.

Best of luck. If you can get through the holidays, you got this!

Thanks, brother! It’s definitely a different lifestyle but have experienced the same things you have. Temptation is strong at times!

Never been one for the traditional meal. We always chose to travel to avoid the family invitation and ended up at Disneyland most years. Crummy Mexican food made for tourists and some rollercoasters are the only acceptable tradition!

C. Turducken with Corn Bread Stuffing

·

Why would you stuff the bird? It isn't exactly empty. is it?

·

What, only two choices?

That is hardly in the spirit of Thanksgiving.

BTW, we “bought or stole” the country fair & square. 😆😂🤣

·

I’m making baked penne pasta. 🤘 It’s the one thing I make that even my food snob relatives request at family get-togethers.

·

Dessert is all that matters. And it must be my homemade cheesecake using my great grandmother‘s recipe.

Disease not people wiped out millions of the native population and it was only later they weaponized diseased bug infested blankets too depopulate the west.

your original founders did not knowingly hurt them.

As a Brit, I'd like to wish all Americans a happy thanks giving.  I love America, and wish I could be there right now.

However, we didn't lose the revolutionary war to the Americans, we beat ourselves. 😁😛
