The joy of a 20cm wrist

A big wrist does allow you to wear just about any size watch you like (IMHO).

People with smaller wrists - what range of watch size are you comfortable to wear? Asking for a friend!

Anything above 39 looks awful on me, you're a lucky duck.

·

I see it the other way around…I have a large wrist and I wish I would wear a 36-38mm watch but feel like I’m locked into a 40mm or larger. I always think that dudes with smaller wrists look fine with larger watches. Imo

32-ish to 60-ish mas o menos 🤏🏻😂

My preference is off the charts.

Joke aside: Usually I go for 37mm - 38mm. I like 40mm too

·

What's a "big" wrist? I'm satisfied with the range of watch sizes I can wear though I only wear 37mm-43mm. I think I could go slightly bigger or smaller but I dont

I agree. I just can't get myself to go below 40mm but really the issue for me is lug to lug. I think the watch looks awkward with a lug to lug under 45ish mm.

·

6.25” wrist and 40mm is the absolute maximum and I rarely go that big

·

20cm wrist. I wear 36-44mm. L2L is a better indicator of wearability for me.

·

35mm-37mm looks appropriate on my 6inch wrist.

·

18cm wrist. I have a 35mm watch, and I also have a 42mm watch. I don’t know that I’d go to Panerai territory, but who knows… I have to try one to be sure.

·

If the measurments start with a 4, I tend to ignore. 34-39mm is what I prefer for my 17cm wrist.

·

6.25 inch wrist here!! My range is 34-38mm. I can go bigger so long as the lug to lug is short

I wear basically whatever I want up to say 44mm despite a sub-7 inch wrist. Thickness is way more relevant imo.

The one thing is that rectangle pieces really start to comically outsize my wrist much sooner than circular ones, so I find myself lookig at women's sizes/models for those

·

32 - 42, but 36 - 38 is my sweet spot.

Thickness is a big factor too.

·

I have a 15.5cm wrist and comfortably wear watches ranging from 36mm to 42mm. However, lug-to-lug length and case thickness are crucial factors for me, more so than just diameter. I prefer watches with a lug-to-lug measurement under 50mm for larger sizes and a case thickness below 14mm. Despite the 42mm diameter of my Glashütte Original’s, they wear surprisingly well due to their short lugs, which don’t extend over my wrist’s edge, unlike some IWC models whose long lugs can make the watch appear oversized.

·

You look like wearing vintages haha

Jokes asides that is so cool I want one

·

I have a roughly 6.7 inch wrist last time I measured I prefer between 38 to 42

·

The diss advantage is my wrist is very "soft" making it look like my watch is too tight. But I'll wear anything I like. Well almost anything... 😁

16cm wrist. 39mm is my max.

I agree. I start getting uninterested when it starts going beyond 46mm

·

16.5cm wrist. With dress watches my sweet spot is 36-38, but I own vintage ones that are smaller. My upper limit for dress watches is 41, and several 42s I have stay now largely unworn. But my 43mm Parnis I still wear. This does not quite apply to digitals, e.g. there I'm happy to go larger. When I buy new watches now I have set myself a max of 40, for analogs.

·

16.5cm too. I consider the watch type and try to avoid watches that are top heavy or with long straight lugs... they would stand too proud and be difficult to keep in position. If the lugs are curved I can get to 44 (for example, the Casio Duro) and probably above with G-Shock models.

Another factor I look to is the crystal size: a dress watch with more than 30-33mm of "real" dial seems a bit too flashy to my personal taste.

·

Six inch wrist here. 34mm - 38mm is a solid sweet spot for me. I can sometimes push it to a 40mm with a compact lug to lug, but only one of those is in my collection. I can also pull off a G Shock square, but honestly I like the fit of a Baby G much more.

More than just wrist circumference, the measurement across the top of the wrist is key. For me, that's 50mm, so I stick to 48mm lug to lug or less (much less if I can get it). My preference for looks and comfort is actually around 43mm lug to lug or smaller.

Here @MWC2020 shows how a Arnie sized G-Shock can fit snugly a 6.5 inches wrist, provided that one is attracted by the genre:

The video is titled Casio lied to us! ... And is recent

totally agree, Ive got a 20.something cm wrist AND its kind of flat/wide rather than round/thick so really anthing less than 60mm lug to lug fits fine.

·

19.05 here. My sweet spot is 39-42. I can wear down to about a 36 comfortably but I prefer larger. Anything above 42 just feels like a novelty watch. Might as well go full Flavor Flav at that point.

That said I think lug to lug is arguably more important than case width. 48-51 is my sweet spot there.
