What are your thoughts on Titanium watches?

This Boldr field medic is my first titanium watch and ever since i got it i became obsessed with this material. I find it amusing the weight that it brigs with it’s natural darkish colour. I what to know your thoughts about this material on watches that became very popular in the last years.

I have a few titanium watches. I like it OK, but to me, it's the same as steel, but lighter. If the same watch were offered in either steel OR titanium I'd most likely choose the steel.

·

I like it titanium, I have a couple and I find them comfortable and light.

·

The worlds best material for a watch case. It is hard and resists scratches. It can be polished to mirror shine. It does not tarnish or patina so your watch will look the same in fifteen years. TI does not cost as much as precious metals.

·

I have 2 titanium citizen watches which I really like. One is a cool almost vintage chronograph and the other is a badass promaster, which I'm glad is titanium because it would be monstrous in steel.

I find titanium watches look greater on field watches, but I can’t imagine a dress watch made of titanium.

Got 1 and I really like it

Thinking of getting a titanium watch. I am leaning towards a SWC as a good entry to titanium.

Actually Titanium is prone to scratching and does patina to a darker color over time.

If your watch looks the same after 15 years then it's been polished a few times.

Indeed, my boldr is full of light scratches. I think it gives my watch character.

I have two titanium watches. The lighter weight is nice, but otherwise I think I prefer SS. I'd never dismiss a watch because it was made from titanium, but I also wouldn't be willing to pay a large premium for it.

·

I like it for large watches since it makes them a lot more wearable. Take my Seiko LX, for example.

Image

It's a massive hunk of metal, but since it's made out of titanium it weighs roughly the same as a Rolex Submariner. I don't think I could be persuaded to buy a watch as big as my Seiko if it were made out of steel.

·

I genuinely like the light weight of it. I've been told that there are different grades of titanium as well. So far, this watch has been good to me.

I have had three and never managed to bond. I haven't anything against them, perhaps it's the feeling of weight I like

My favorite titanium watch in my collection...couple of different angles to see the light play on the dial...

A Boldr was the only Ti watch I ever had. I enjoyed it. I think I would enjoy the Pelagos LHD, but it might be a bit too beefy for my wrist. It could be a one watch collection if not 🤔

·

I have one titanium watch, i like it very much because its very light, but i think i prefer the lighter color of steel.

First thing I thought about when I got mine was how lightweight it felt. But not in a cheap way to me. Also I only had bad experiences with metal bands pulling my hair at the time and this band was the most comfortable metal band I’d ever worn. It fits so perfect on my wrist. I love titanium.

·

I’ve had an Omega Seamaster titanium and now own two. Both 90s. Both Japanese. I’m a big fan.

i just bought a Citizen Promaster Diver BN0200-81E because i wanted to stop lusting after my friend's Tudor Pelagos he is selling.. i'm hoping the citizen will deter me from buying the tudor from @MarceloSkeletonKey

·

I love the titanium on my Pelagos 39. It’s so comfortable on the wrist. I think it’s good to have a titanium watch in your collection to mix things a bit

·

I have only one titanium watch, the Citizen CB-0190.

IMO, titanium only makes sense when it's properly surface-hardened or coated in some scratch-resistant coating. Let's be honest, for most titanium watches it doesn't take long to look like mangled aluminium. When I've been working in watch retail, every trying on of a titanium watch by a customer meant scratches. Grade 2 in Certina and Tissot? Oh, please. I saw a titanium Certina that a work colleague had - it was maybe 5-6 years old, and it looked absolutely chewed. On the affordable end of the price spectrum, only Citizen and Seiko seem to be worthwhile in terms of big brands, and if to count in microbrands, I'd also throw in RZE into the mix. No "scratchproofing" = no deal.

·

This was perfect timing for me. I was looking at a titanium watch but now I think I’ll stick to SS. From the above comments it’s not worth the upcharge thanks

·

I really like the lightlness, but not the usual gray color... Black titanium is delicious and titanium that look as Stainless Steel is also fine, but both need some golden details...

This is my (now VERY rare) daily Skagen and I have two, for safety...

Image

And this is the finest reserve I found at a reasonable price... Which in addition is a 100m chronograph

Image

Then is this amazing (unfortunately ultra rare) Citizen the most sexy titanium I ever seen...

Image

And this old Seiko is almost as nice...

Image

Then are these titanium masterpieces too expensive for me...

I have only had one, but I love it. Sometimes when I’ve tried on ones with a full bracelet they feel too light at first, but I’m guessing you get used to it. This one is just comfortable and easy to wear, it’s been my most worn watch since I got it over a year ago!

That's 🔥

What does it weigh on the bracelet?

I'm assuming under 100g as my A384 is around 110g and my Pelagos 39 is about 105g.

·

I’m thinking about getting one of these for a friend of mine

·

My most recent Ti watch is my Tudor Pelagos. It has become my daily "most of the time" it can take abuse and still look just fine.

I’ve had a couple of titanium watches and never had a bond. I disliked the light weight and I didn’t appreciate the color and luster like you have with steel.
