commented on Do you always set your watch to the correct time? (To the second or minute? Or at all?) ·

I set it to the exact second when I put it on in the morning unless it's the same watch I wore the day before. I have prioritized accuracy in my collection, so I need to take advantage of it!

Such a beautiful dial!

commented on Controversial: My most worn watch of 2023 ·

My most worn watch is my Apple Watch, and has been for many years. Because it's always on my right wrist except when it's charging. But my left wrist is where I wear my mechanical watches, and then it's a constant rotation, so nothing can compare to the wrist time of the Apple Watch.

I know it's not for everyone, but I bought my mechanical watches to wear them, so I'm gonna wear them... and I have my Apple Watch for the functionality, mainly for health tracking. I'm not willing to sacrifice either for the other.

commented on Tudor BB58 Question ·

The BB58 is, in my opinion, a nearly perfect watch. T-fit would make it perfect. I put a Steel Reef extension link on mine, though, because although the BB54 bracelet does fit it's a bit too pricey to buy just to add T-fit to the BB58.

I am a person who likes to wear my watches fitted, not loose, so a tool-less quick adjust is a necessity for a metal bracelet, and the Steel Reef link makes it the same as my Rolex bracelets, with 5mm of easy extension. Prior to getting the Steel Reef I only wore the BB58 on straps, but I'm happy to have it back on bracelets, which I usually prefer.

It's likely that Tudor will upgrade the bracelet on the BB58 black and blue models, and it would make sense for them to do that this year since the BB54, BB Pro, Metas BB41, Ranger, and even the BB31/36/39/41 series all have it. The BB58 and BB GMT still need the upgrade. But you never can be sure when it will happen, so if you want the watch now, then buy it! If you're happy to wait then it won't be long before Watches and Wonders.

commented on What is your size range? ·

Size range is from 35-42 for me, but I think that’s one of the problems with watches. We measure the case size, because it’s a common measurement and gives us a way to compare things, but some people make decisions based on that number. I think that the shape of the case and lugs, the design of the watch, the size of the dial, and even the color end up making a watch work or not or even looking big or not on a wrist.

Lug to lug can be useful, but again not on its own. The truth is that you don’t know if a watch will work for you until you put it on the wrist.

Which you seem to do, since you have such a wide range of sizes covered.

commented on One watch for the rest of your life? ·

I want to say my GMT Master II (especially because I’d then also buy the oyster bracelet for it) but if it came down to it I’d probably choose the Explorer II.

commented on Do you swim with expensive watches? ·

Except for one watch I received as a gift with 30m WR, I buy my watches to endure whatever I do. If that’s swimming, which it sometimes is, then the watch goes with me. I’ve done that with many of my watches, even my Speedy. Though I do seal checks every couple years and have had them replaced before on a watch when it failed. My Rolexes have been through everything with me, swimming, ice dunking, saunas, mountain biking, chain sawing, mountain biking, chopping wood… lots of things that some people shun. But if I have to baby them to keep them alive then I don’t want them.
