HELP... with the 1st scratch on my acrylic crystal

My Lorier Neptune's got it's 1st scratch. I'm wondering how well the PolyWatch works on it.

Any tips, advice or commentary on personal experiences?

Thanks in advance.

I’ve heard Polywatch works well

·

I’ve used it on my 1970’s Bifora and it worked very well. Took a scuff mark of the face. I applied a little at a time used a cotton bud ( a tip?) and the final wipe off with a micro fibre cloth. Good as new.

·

Relax, polywatch will sort it, plenty on utube and the instructions work. 20mins to half hour(might be a bit sooner) and your lovely Lorier will be back to it's best (used poly loads, it works).

·

Nah leave the scratches until you can't read the dial anymore!

Kidding. Polywatch works very well. Interestingly enough, I've never used it on a watch but it works on other stuff. 👍

·

Throw it in the trash it’s ruined

Used it many times on vintage watches, great stuff.

As others have said. Lorier themselves have a blog post about it.

Or just rock it..👀🤏🏻😉😁

Not Polywatched it once since '21.

Polywatched it back to 'new'

I've fixed half a dozen crystals with it. It works by friction-heat, so rub vigorously and when you feel the heat in your fingers then it's working.

·

Leave it.

Wait until you can barely read the time, then wait some more and then forget about it and then the heck with it, who cares, keep going.

Seriously, let it roll, it’s going to happen and if it bothers you, sorry to be frank, but you should haven’t a poly/acrylic crystal.

To answer the question, poly works, toothpaste can help, sun cloths for light smudges, but don’t go overboard or do it too often. They do remove some of it.

·

Polywqtch will work no problem. Don’t worry. Apply a little at a time and do it as many times as it takes for the scratch to disappear. Use a polishing cloth

Easy to fixe with polywatch.

·

How much polywatching can a crystal take before it goes through to the other side?

·

Youtube it

·

Lorier usually sends a tube of Polywatch and a cloth with their watches. I used Polywatch on several of my acrylic/hesalite watches over the years. Unless it is a deep scratch it will get rid of it

·

It works super well…just use the cloth and your hands and not a Dremel (remember acrylic is plastic…and when plastic heats up…no bueno) have fun!!!

·

PolyWatch will correct that scratch easy peasy, but if you don't have some on hand (I don't and most of my collection is vintage) you can use brass/silver polish as a substitute for fine scratches. For the really deep scratches a combination of 1000 and 2000 grit sandpaper followed by brass/silver polish will do the trick just fine.

·

Just wear it and collect some scars :) if it looks too bad after a while you can still polish it with poly watch

·

Works well for little scratches. Deeper grooves need a little more work before using PolyWatch.

However, I would not use it right now. It’s Acrylic, which is extremely soft. Nearly everything you come into contact with will scratch it. PolyWatch is an abrasive which should not be used that often.

Do it once or at highest twice a year and you should be fine.

·

Time to sell it to me 😂

That's great news. I figured, just wanted to be reassured. Thanks.

Polywatch will be fine. Better, the more

patient you are to take time and do it right. Personally, I’d wait for a few more scratches just to make the effort worthwhile. 👍🏻

Yeah, it bothered me initially. But I'm getting used to it. Most of my watches have sapphire so I've been used to not worrying about it. This acrylic crystal on the Neptune is supreme tho. Worth any amount of elbow grease.

I use 3M paint polish. It works better than poly watch and it has a nice luster.

I'll have to try that. Thanks.

That's important. I would hate to over-do it and affect the look of this piece.

Polywatch :)

·

I e used Polly on my Neptune and it worked perfectly, use an ample amount and do several rounds

·

I have the Lorier Hydra III GMT and got some scratches on my crystal. The polywatch really works.

It will be magical if wait for more scratches even to see a bigger difference
