NODUS Sector Sport (Two-Tone Bronze) Review

Nodus is becoming one of my top microbrands on the market. Based out of Los Angeles, Nodus makes it's mark mostly in the sporty/tool style watches. They offer quality divers, field and pilot watches, with the Sector Sport being their GADA piece.

This piece is unique in many different ways. From the materials to the fact that this model was limited to 75 pieces worldwide makes this watch a rare gem. The pieces were numbered and I ended up getting number 69/75(Giggity).

The case is beautifully executed with prominent chamfered edges that break up the high polish and brushed finishing. Drilled lugs makes strap changing a breeze.

The bronze bezel is the co-star of the show here. The patina has developed over the last few months and matches perfectly with the other co-star... this dial.

The "sector" dial is broken up into 3 levels. The lowest section of the dial perfectly contains the hour hand. The outer ring houses the gorgeous gilt 9,6,3 applied indices. Surrounding the dial is a color-matched raised chapter ring. The dial is contained under a sapphire crystal with AR coating.

For my 6.5 inch wrist the dimensions are right in the sweet spot at 38mm(case width) X 12.5mm(thickness) X 47mm(lug to lug). The H-link bracelet is super comfortable as well. Nodus also offers built-in quick release springbars with a divers extension clasp(awesome!).

Here are my criticism on the Two-Tone Bronze:

  • They should offer a non-blue AR.

*It's pretty strong in certain light and may turn some ppl off(not me).

  • The bronze used cannot be(easily) reversed.

*I have used many different methods to reverse the patina(tomato sauce, lemon juice, vinegar),

nothing works for me.

  • Kinda boring movement(NH38).

*I love NH Movements, but for $500+ I'd understand this being an issue(not for me).

I must say, Nodus made a classic. Every brand has that one piece that you can immediately identify at first glance and for Nodus it's the Sector Sport(IMO). The Two-Tone Bronze is an incredible watch, and In a crowded room Nodus keeps being... Noticed. I am truly happy to have it inmy collection.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Fantastic watch, nice bronze bezel and crown.

Kicking myself for not being a few hours earlier to get one THEN, I missed out on the open vault sale because I was on the road🥺

Dang that looks real good

Thank you for the review! I think it’s fair to say that visually the JLC Polaris has been an inspiration for this watch. That is a good thing.

·

My dream would be the Sector case, just thinned out using the Miyota 9000 series. It would wear so well!

·

Really cool watch, I was a bit too slow to hop on this train so I didn’t manage to get one, your 3rd con at work.

I can see that. The Sector dial for sure. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
