We always tent to focus on big pieces when it comes to grail watches. How about those who have a grail piece but is a very affordable.
For me would be my Casio Timber Cruiser TIC-100 I bought it on ebay for $150 USD a year ago. That box shape 70s case is beautiful. I actually do not wear it as much I'm scared to beat it up ๐.
Please share your affordable grails.

Very nice! Got the Porsche Design flare ๐ Mine would be the grey 38mm Seiko Prospex Diver Solar. Should be possible to get for about 400$ on sale or used ๐
Interesting topic.
All Casio.
9400 is around $200 but on a good day you can get it under $200.
Both the 6900 and 5600 are atomic solar.
Interesting topic.
Casio Edifice are very under rated.
Thats such a cool casio!
Gotta go with the gw-m5610, it's the slightly older module, but pretty much one of the coolest watches I've ever had.
My Seiko 5 is a great only automatic to have - just about exactly USD$200 on eBay.
I'm planning to install a custom bezel insert, which hopefully will make me feel like it's truly mine (worst case scenario, I'll be constantly reminded of the time I managed to truly ruin both the bezel and the case).
Talk about a deal ๐ฅ
Not grails ! Aspirational watches ! A grail is a bloody impossible watch that takes you a decade to acquire with lazer like focus and it will make all your previous purchases redundant! THAT is a โgrailโ watch ! ( sorry for my old man rant ๐)
I donโt know about โgrailโ, but an affordable watch I find myself pining after is probably the SRPE61K1. Iโve almost pulled the trigger so many times, but I never go through with it. Not sure why ๐ค
I hunted for a while for a lip Mach 2000 designed by Roger Tallon. There is a big mecahnical chrono for significantly more money in the same product line, but this is a tiny quartz watch. I picked it up on eBay for about $200.
This is the one for me. The SNXS79. I have to thank @hakki501 for making me want it even more.

Same exact story here. I just never quite want it enough.
For around $200 Iโd look for a Seiko 7548
If it is under $200.00 it isn't a grail. A grail watch is suppose to be difficult to obtain. Don't you remember Monty Python when the King told the French that he was seeking the Holy Grail and they said "No thanks, We already have one."
This one is on my wish list. It's slightly over your range ($256) but it is an awesome watch at that price! ๐
Click here to see it on Amazon.
Sorry, I dont have one to show you..
Nice collection. What watch would you wear under 200? if you had to pick one?

I agree. I think for us the watch community our grails might be out there in history and price. I think for the regular consumer a 200 might be their grail.
This is an example:
I think our world is so miniscule but we are very passionate that we forget about the normies ๐

LOL by that rubric, I am a "normie." I happen to like Invicta, because most of them have quality Swiss (Ronda) or Japanese (Hattori/Seiko) movements, and are a bit on the big side (44mm+) which is great for a big guy like me. (6'1" / 350 / 8" wrist.)
That being said, I have had some issues with Invicta, in terms of customer service. But their watches are so inexpensive as to still be worth the hassle, in my opinion. I paid $77, $59, and $47 respectively for each of my Invicta watches, and even with sub-par customer service, it's still a FANTASTIC bang for your buck. By the way, the watches themselves are fine, and perform well.
On the other hand, I also own a Tissot (42mm) and a Casio Duro (45mm) and have plans to buy Seikos and Citizens in the future. (Which is more in line with what most people on here are collecting.)
At 44K for entry-level models, I can't even afford to LOOK at A.Lange&Sohne. ๐คฃ
Inexpensive for me is $150 or less; mid-range is $151-300; anything in the 300-750 range is a "goal watch."(Save up for a month or two.) Anything above 750 is simply unattainable, unless I suddenly win the lottery. If I were single, or an empty-nester, my available range would increase; but with two adolescent kiddos, my extra money flies out the door at an alarming rate. ๐

We already got one, you see! Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

(LOL by that rubric, I am a "normie.") LOL... if you are here you are part of the enthusiast. Nothing is wrong with Invicta I love the 1953 40mm, NH35, 200M WR for 100 bucks come one. There's some nice models that are not too oversize. You just have look deep in their catalog.
I just think sometimes we get into this hobby so much that we think a grail needs to be 2k, 5k, 30k or needs to be part of the holy trinity. I include myself as the main hypocrite when I have watches that are worth 2k. (Anything above 750 is simply unattainable) and that's real. Even spending 20 buck is a luxury for something you really do not need.
I just got me my cheap casio tough solar.. not really a grail watch but something to get by without any winding or wearing for a long long time, lol

Dude! Me too. I'll be pushing that through the cart soon tho.
Orient Bambino 38mm - waiting for a sale
Me too.
G-Shock gwm5610 w/ lug adapters for nato capabilities. Nicely under $200.
A Pouge in good condition, or Seamaster mid to late 50โs.

This was (and is) my grail watch, if there is such a thing. Well, not exactly. My grail, if there is such a thing, was simply a really good looking orange dial watch I could afford. Then Seiko released this. Mine was $180 and it is my most expensive watch.
In the photo it has lots of presence on your arm. I say that's a good thing.

Thanks for putting this up. Check out the 37071 with the cream dial and the small seconds!
