What watch does your significant other wear?

We all talk a lot about our own watches. We talk about the ones we love, our experiences of getting the ones we want, and the overall watch market. But what about your significant other? Does he/she/they like watches too? Have you tried to get them into watches? Or have they shown interest on their own over time? Has it been difficult getting what the way want?

My wife doesn’t care about the specifics of her watch. She just likes it as jewelry. She asked for a Cartier Tank some years ago and last year I got her the Solarbeat in size small. Now we‘re waiting on the AD to offer us a 31mm Datejust with a black dial. We were offered a 31mm Datejust with a white dial just before Christmas but turned it down.

Tell us about your SO’s watches and watch stories.

Don't laugh, she's not that into watches. She'll wear a couple others off and on. Her Mickey has faded. I found another in better condition and will have it cleaned and a new custom strap made. Black with red stitching. Valentines gift.

She thinks I need a 9 step addiction program lol. She's like why do you spend soooo much more for watches. They just tell time. Oh well!

Seriously she's great! My wife buys a couple a watches a year for me for those special occasions and they're watches  I "want".

Cheers!

Apple watch. 🙄 Believe me, I've tried.

Yep!

She wears this old Hammy for dressier occasions and a Jupiter moonswatch on casual days.

·

Apple Watch if anything. She doesn't care about watches.

·

An Apple Watch. 🤮

·

It took an awful lot of wrangling to break her away from her Gucci quartz (ugh), but I managed to get her wearing a Tissot Le Locle Double Happiness, and she LOVES it:

all of the ones in her watchbox

Two toned ladies DJ from the 90s to match the one her parents bought me for our wedding though in the last few years she has taken to wearing a steel quartz Victorinox watch (also from the 90s) most days.

I tried to get her into watches and was showing her the usual and thought she was going to go for the Cartier Santos small but she finally told me to stop it and that watches were my thing, not hers. She opted for a handbag instead.

I got this Orient for my wife for Christmas v

And she’s also got this smaller Triwa for dressier occasions.

She’s not into watches at all and I’ll spend more on jewellery for her.

At the moment she wears this one from me every day (weaned her off her Apple Watch.) - I’ve tried suggesting upgrades - but she really loves this  one and doesn’t have the sickness. She would love a two tone Rolex Datejust one day.

·

She has negative interest in watches, and with a fair bit of pushing, she accepted a cheap Timex. she still supports me on my deep love for watches, but she is satisfied with her little Timex.

indiglo is great but it’s a cheap watch, and yet is a well built, more or less durable watch that can be worn carefree. So good for her.

She wears this, but only occasionally...

Hands-On Grand Seiko Heritage 44GS 36.5mm Sakura SBGW289 (Price)

I think she only wears it to humor me, as it was a gift from me.  If she had her druthers, she would wear this...

Petite St Mawes - Women's Rose Gold & White Watch 28mm | DW

But, when she showed me hers, and told me that she really liked it, but that the battery had died, I scolded her.

My wife saw this vintage Omega in a local jewellers and I have never seen her get so excited about a watch. She bought it 5 minutes later and loves it to this day.

The Tank, it was a gift for a new job + matching watch with myself.

Usually she's wearing the Apple watch, though honestly she actually uses a lot of the functions so it's her tool watch I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Great looking OP, what’s the size? Looks nice with the Cartier ring too

It’s a 31mm. I love the way the colour changes in the light.
And thank you.
She spent 3k on a ring for me so I guess the OP is the least I could do haha

A damn fitbit!

Most stolen from my collection for torture testing......

My lady also collects, she wears mostly G-Shocks as she has several different ones and she isn't worried about tearing them up at her work. She also has a ladies model Timex indiglo and a Bulova Curv that I steal to wear sometimes 😂

(When your wife gets her druthers, Fracas is waiting for that 289...)

It was the slim, classic Tissot sitting in my my ex's (now best friend) desk drawer unloved that reminded me of just how much I loved watches as a kid.  Not sure that counts for this thread, just wanted to come from the distaff side.

And a Mondaine Evo2 on red leather.

I ended up getting my fiancé into watches, although, he’s not anywhere near as obsessed as I am 😂 I ended up gifting him a few of his favorites. #1 right now is his 90s TAG Heuer 2000 series, and a Certina DS4 that I got him for Christmas. The most important thing is that he has HIS and I have MINE 😅

·

Daily she wears a Samsung smartwatch. And on dates, she wears her Casio A700W. We've had much better experiences when her watch isn't vibrating and demanding her attention.

My wife wears a Citizen Eco Drive. The fact that she doesn't have to charge it finally made her get rid of the smart watch.

Bought this for my wife in 2021 from a local AD.   So I have a very rare phobia called Kosememophobia (fear of jewelry).  Its quite complex and differs based on  type of jewelry, metals, construction, how its worn, etc.   Not to go deep into it, but my wife doesn't wear jewelry because of it and I am eternally grateful to her for doing that.  Because of that, I wanted to give her something that summed up my gratitude and yet was jewelry like and something she could wear EVERYDAY!  Her Rolex is her tool watch and I love it.   She is not a watch person, but LOVES her watch and has now grown to appreciate its beauty and heritage.

·

It took years to get my partner into watches and now her collection is bigger, more diverse, and much more expensive than mine. 😂

She’s even been interviewed for The New York Times about her watch hobby and watch photography as well as multiple watch magazines and websites and podcasts. She has definitely out-watched me. 😅

·

My wife and I both got into watches at the same time. When I got my Tudor Ceramic, she got a Tudor 58 925. When I got a Tudor Black Bay Pro, she got a Tudor Pelagos LHD. She also wears a Seiko Presage I gifted her. And for Christmas she got a Cartier Santos. It's been fun getting nerdy in this hobby with her!

If money was no object, she'd be rocking an Omega Ploprof.

My wife used to wear a Fossil, and when it broke I convinced her to get an automatic and bought her a Seiko SNK355 as a birthday gift. She wears it every single day, and I couldn’t be more proud.
