What is your “default” or “grab and go” watch?

Is there one watch in your collection that you perceive to be your “default” watch? Like the one that you gravitate to, and would pick up and wear without consciously making a decision. The one you can just “grab and go” when you’re in a rush and not giving any thought to your selection. I’m not saying your best watch or your favourite watch. But just the one that you would throw on casually without any planning or forethought. Maybe on those (infrequent) days when you just don’t plan your watch and wardrobe choices, this would be the watch you just grab and go.

Mine is, surprisingly, the Tudor BB Pro. This isn’t my love story for how great the BB Pro actually is. It has its faults. But it is preeminently wearable and easy going. It goes with any outfit and it’s reliable. The quality of life features like the on the fly adjustment T-Fit clasp make it usable all the time, whether my wrists are swelling up or not. I was surprised when I was going through this mental exercise of identifying what is my “default” watch. I didn’t think it would be the BB Pro. When I asked myself this question I thought for sure it would be something like the Explorer, or the Sub. But those watches come with a stigma and a worry when wearing them in certain situations. I never feel that way with the Tudor. I can always just grab it and go.

A close second for me is the Seamaster 300. But its polished surfaces is a bit too blingy for some situations.

Those are some awesome watches to have as options! I can see why you lean towards the BB Pro for default use.

My default is my Seiko 5 (SRPG27K1). Just a wonderful simple watch that goes with everything I normally wear. It's the foundation of my collection, and then it is fun to branch out into the rest of my collection when I want to add color or complications.

As I wear my watch overnight, I have to make a conscious decision to change it in the morning. If I don't, it just stays/gets back on my wrist after the shower (depending on the model). So since late December it's this:

Before it was this for nearly half a year:

Love how that Seamaster fits you. I also have a 6.5” wrist and always thought that would wear too big on me. It fits you really well!

Easy, my Black Bay red bezel!

Looks good dressed up, or with shorts, T Shirt, and Converse All Stars.

The perfect watch!

This is an interesting question! I tend to make sure that I’m rotating my watches pretty consistently, but I’d say that the BB58 is my grab and go watch. Pretty much goes with anything and is good for any scenario

SPB143 looks great on a bunch of different strap. I usually end up reaching for this most the time.

As a daily rocker and „do it all“ watch it has to be a Seiko. That one goes to beach, moubtains, bike rides and Sauna with me

Most of my watches are quartz, so I have a lot of them. Today its the citizens turn.
