Just got one of these myself. The Meteorite dial...love the watch. Decent quality for the price and a classic look.
Not at all. We get so caught up in brands and luxury and finish etc. Yes all good things, but at the end of the day, we like wearing a watch that we enjoy wearing. A watch that makes you feel like you have something special on your wrist and shows a sense of style or character that you want to convey. That's all. So if its a Rolex or a "faulex", if you are enjoying it, that's all that matters!
I like your approach. Btw, I am originally from India. So I do have a warm spot for HMTs. :) So I suggest you go in phases. Let her appreciate each step of the journey. Get her something that is an automatic, but doesn't have sapphire crystal or doesn't have some other features...so that as time goes on, you give yourself the opportunity to buy her more features as she grows and appreciates it. Its a nice way to have a nice collection for her and also to gauge her growth.
Really like your sentiment and desire to get your girlfriend something wrist-worthy! Question... does she appreciate watches like you do, or is it still a bit superficial? Reason I ask, my wife didn't really care much for watches when I met her and if I bought her the Rolex she has now, THEN, she could have cared less if it was a Rolex or a Fossil .... But after 10 years of appreciating watches with me...she has grown and that Rolex she has now is her pride and joy.
