SeaQ or Sub......should I outrage the AD??....

So.....I went and tried one of these on......it's lovely to wear and although pictures make them look peculiar, with the gold bezel/crown, the steel case and fabric strap, the overall watch is just stunning.

It's been so long since I asked for a sub, I'm at the point where I really can't be bothered waiting any more. Inclined to buy the SeaQ and just say no when the AD calls....thoughts?

I'd go with the SeaQ, to my eye it's a niceer watch, and it's more interesting than a boring "standard issue" Sub.

·

Go with the seaq.  It has incredible finishing, quality build, interesting dial and just damn beautiful 😍

·

Sea Q 100%.  Way more interesting.

·

I'd go for the SeaQ or a Blancpain.

·

Life’s too short for Rolex bulls**t unless youre absolutely convinced you must have a specific reference

SeaQ is a really beautiful diver

·

SeaQ.  No question.

·

Love the watch, but the date positioning kills it for me. Cannot unsee that.

I feel like the sub is almost as common as a swatch by now. but go for what you thinks makes you happier but I would it or the go

·

SeaQ

·

Sea Q beautiful piece

·

The SeaQ looks like it will be a great addition. I like the two independent numerals in the date window; the 4 o’clock position works for me. This is a much more interesting addition than a Sub. Great choice.

That is perfectly fine

·

Definately SeaQ!

·

Damn good looking watch!

·

OP, very, very, very simple solution...

  • Buy the SeaQ now
  • Get "the call" from the AD
  • Buy the Sub for RRP
  • Sell the Sub on Chrono24 and make a few thousand dollars

I saw the SeaQ and it didn’t look like a $10k+ watch

I hear you but to be honest, as much as I love them, neither do the stainless steel Rolex subs. None of these higher end stainless watches look like $10k+ or near $10k watches (but as @HotWatchChick69 pointed out, at least you could make some money on the Rolex). Not sure why these "tool" watches from the major brands have all pushed up so high in price but that's the world we live in.

·

I'm a big fan of the seaq. What a great looking piece! Rolex? What is that?

·

100% go with the SeaQ. a greater more superior watch. The Submariner gets way more hype than it deserves. I can this as i owned one for 2 years. it's a nice piece for sure but not on the level of the SeaQ.

·

Part of me wants the Rolex, part of me thinks I already have enough Rolex (I live in London, so they pretty much never go out of the house!!) - maybe its 'grass is greener' syndrome.~

that's an interesting question abotu which woudl I buy today - it woudl be the SeaQ. For sure.

Hey - you helped me answer that one - thanks!

·

The SeaQ is way better than the Sub:

Buy the SeaQ now and enjoy the hell out of it. If the AD calls, bring the SeaQ in to compare them and pick which one you like better. The Sub is an icon but the SeaQ is a better watch. Either way you can't go wrong.

·

Go for the SeaQ. For the ultimate watch nerds flex; the stealth flex! The "In-the-know" flex!

Proclaim your love of horology with a SeaQ!

I actually really like the look of the SeaQ. Dare I say…not boring and the usual suspect! have you checked out the Fifty Fathoms?

·

SeaQ any day of the week. Such a great watch. No need to worry about the Rolex ADs, they have enough lemmings lined up to purchase as many Subs as they get allocated.

It's nice to have GO produce high end divers in this classic 1960s design.

I love my vintage divers with this design language - very popular design especially in France.

Here are a couple of vintage Le Forban references...

There also have been some vintage French reissues both by Le Forban and Douglas/Wolbrook...

And there are a load of really inexpensive divers from the factories in Besancon, France with similar design language...

I recently sold my SeaQ and bought a Sub... definitely try it on first.  Over time I just didn't like how it wore and that's of course a very personal thing.  Lovely watch though.

Do you need a Doctor ?

Dr Dre ! 😂😂😂😂😂

Sorry i'm out 💸

·

Same as my fellow crunchers above, SeaQ for me too.

Love what GO is doing, beautiful brand, beautiful movements, correctly priced and less known than Rolex (which is the case for 98% of the watch brands tbo)

Great looking watch. I actually was just looking at a mint one for sale on watchuseek just a bit ago. No idea if it was a good price or not, but it was flawless condition, same exact watch and band.
