Buy the watch you really want. If you love the design, you’ve tried it on, and it speaks to your soul, then the price is irrelevant. Save up and get it. Focus on one watch, not a collection. Later, after you’ve long forgot about the sting of the wallet and you’ve got some more cash saved, if another watch pulls at your heart string, then save and buy that one.
If you put cost high in your decision making process, you’ll buy a lot of watches that you regret and spend more in the long run. Especially if buying micro brands over the internet that when you get them, you arent fond of them on your wrist. You’ll take a pretty good depreciation hit on the micros as well.
I have a couple micro brand watches. I’m fairly happy with them, and they have a place in my collection. Sometimes they arent regulated very well and lose more time than they should. IMO, they arent nearly as nice as my Tudors, Omega’s etc..
The higher end watches like Omega, Rolex, Tudor, Grand Seiko, etc.. hold their value well and sometimes even appreciate. They never depreciate much if they do. And they are always regulated well and hold time. I’ve never regretted one of them.
