A thought exercise. Yes we all have collections but what if we could have one watch? What would you value more if the opportunity came around where you could choose? โ๏ธor ๐
(And yes substitute grail for yours, and whatever the (non Grand) Seiko model would be for you)
@Timely_Moments
@Deeperblue - thought of this after reading your โdeinfluencerโ post ๐ค๐ผ
Something about wearing a triple-axis tourbillon to me while doing the mundane seems lovely.
Oh my days, no contest!
Travel the world!
I would very happily be a globe trotter sporting a Daniel Wellington.
Am I going to get kicked out of the collectors club now? ๐ฌ
Give a Seiko 5 GMT and I'm back to Japan!
Replace Seiko with another brand like Casio, Timex, etc., and I'm in for that... I'd rather sit at home than wear a Seiko.
Not much of a choice. Iโd travel and draw a watch on my wrist if that was the deal.
Travel...no question. on a good trip you usually don't really care what time it is anyway.
Travel is exhausting and I have seen those parts of the world I wanted to.
I would pick the watch, no question. In fact, watch or no watch, I prefer being over some foreign place across the globe.
The world is too big and too beautiful for me to ever want to trade it for any watch.
The Seiko would become special as it accompanied me on all my journeys.
I go to Mรฉxico once a year for 6 weeks , ususally spend 7 k plus 3 k in tickets , i live in Argentina . Done that trip since 1996. So how many watches do you think i own worth 10k(0ne trip) or 270k( total trips) ? 0

There is no way You have had a decent Argentine asado.
I might be tempted to stay put if the place had good enough curry.

I dream of going to Argentina one day. Absolutely on my list โค

No, indeed I did not. I had better ๐ and for that I had wake up at 4 in the morning to take animals to the vet before helping slaughter them in my grandparents' garden. We have no chilled rooms so it must be done during winter for it not to go bad and attract flies.
As such, I earned my barbecue these days ๐ ๐ฅฉ in a very literal sense and when you earn something, food or otherwise, it is the tastiest (plus having fed the animals ourselves we know the meats are good quality ๐).
To be fair though, I have a few friends from there and the South Americans make very good barbecues ๐ even with inferior meat from Western Europe
Weโll guys I guess Iโll be getting that $5,000 dollar seiko and traveling the world to boot!
How old am I in this scenario? Can I add a "Grand" in there? lol
I actually don't like the whole process of going anywhere, but I'd go with the travel option and Seiko option. A cool diver is theoretically all the watch i need.
Hmmm... I'd probably go for something harder wearing... Like a Willard, but a slightly blingy version ๐
Blingy but strong ๐ช๐ผ๐๐ผ
Right on๐ค๐ผ which dial and where would be your first location?
I have a white one. I would take it to Mexico to swim with whale sharks
My all time grail because I hate Seiko !!!
Grail and staying put.
If conflict and a dictatorship rises up in my little paradise would moving be considered travel?
Lucky my grail has seiko on the dial ๐ธ
My Captain Williard and I are going to have a lot of fun doing what watches were meant to do, exploring the world ๐

Rock on!
Give me the Seiko. ANYWHERE BUT HERE
I guess my grail right now is the omega speedmaster sapphire sandwich. But if having that means I canโt visit family and go other places, Iโll stick with my Seiko SSK001.
Iโve basically travelled and spent time in over 30 countries so Iโll take the Lange. ๐
Travel the world with a single Seiko, it's not even a debate for me. Would I love to have my grail watch/watches? Absolutely, who wouldn't right? For me, I've got a small very humble collection and I cherish what the watches mean to me emotionally and what I've experienced with the watch than the blue book financial value of the watch. Plus, I've already got my Seiko SPB183 Willard that has travelled many places with me from Singapore, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Bangkok & hopefully even more places!
