To be precise, the alpinist is not uncomfortable but thicker and therefore not very comfortable, for example if you wear a shirt. With €1300 you might be able to get them as a pair in some physical stores. At least in Turin in Italy you can do this combo
I have both the Hamilton Khaki field auto and the alpinist without the rotating compass, the Hamilton is very comfortable in every situation, the Seiko is more robust and if we want to be picky, between the 2 slightly more "uncomfortable" for my small wrist . In any case they are both very versatile, with the Seiko you can also take a bath in complete safety having a resistance of 20Bar and the screw-down crown. Having both of them is perfection 😂
I have a khaki field auto with the same movement and it has no starting problems. But I know that some watches need a little jolt to start even after being wound, I have a Seiko that sometimes needs a little jolt.
