What is the purest vibed watch of all time? I'm talking so cool only Jimi Hendrix could wear it. Only Sean Penn's character in the Secret Life of Walter Mitty could wear. Somewhere between adventureman and artist genius. Please excuse the grammar and spelling of words I made up haha

Timex Expedition...
When you're cool, you set the trend, not follow.

who had a vibe that wore one?
This recreational drug user has a good vibe and an even better kick. He has a nice Omega Planet Ocean and cool Omega swag.
This guy lost his swag but kept his Tag.

We don't know yet... since the trend hasn't yet been set. 😉
If you're wearing what was cool on James Dean's wrist, you're not cool, you're a follower.
If you made the word up, we all look to you for spelling of it.
Some good answers so far.
But, and it semi-pains me to say, Rolex Daytona.
I tend to agree with @KristianG.
I imagine that most watches that could be offered up as examples were probably nice or useful tools that became transcendent or “super cool” only after that particular person adopted it and it became identifiable with their style/persona. In that case a Timex Expedition is as worthy a candidate as a Newman Daytona or Warhol Cartier Tank. In other words, if you are cool it becomes cool, or if you have style it can become stylish.
For @roberto :
Everybody know that the answer is a gold Rolex President and everything else is lacking, even Casio and Timex models.
The problem, as alluded to, is that bandwagon jumpers eventually hop on everything. Ellen DeGeneres is decidedly not what this topic is about, but I'd assume she has one or more.
This is why Longines is the brand I will get when I finally move up tier in my watch collecting.
Bogey wore Longines. Enough said. 😉
Raquel Welsh, Breitling Top Time
Hard to beat the watch being the focus of an iconic movie poster.

Yes - but the original electric in 14k gold, not the reissue...
My pick(s) has/have to go to the coolest cat in all the pack...
For the tough/rugged motorcycle bad guy...
Or if you prefer the executive dress watch...
Or if you are a racing fan...
Have to definitely agree with you sir! This character exudes vibe in any situation. The 417es and Monaco are personal favs of mine and so are the stories behind these pieces. 👊
For @roberto :
I don't know about the watch but his eyebrows are definitely setting some kind of style. He could use them to comb back over and cover his reseeding hair line 😮

The Hanhart was his preferred watch by all counts, the Tag was only for the movie and the photo shoots then he'd put his Hanhart back on. I can't comment on the Longines, but definitely stylish and a cool watch for a man that epitomises Coolness 👍

Yes - absolutely - that's why I had the Hanhart first as it was his personal watch that he wore all the time.
As you indicated, the Monaco was worn just for the movie at the behest of Heuer's Jack Heuer. Trivia fact: that Monaco worn by McQueen in Le Mans sold for $2.2 million at auction.
The Cartier Tank Cintree was worn in the classic movie "The Thomas Crown Affair" where McQueen plays a debonaire millionaire criminal.
Cartier Tank!
Lately, I’ve been wearing my Cartier on weekends and I’ve not been setting the time — true to Warhol’s words. It has become my ultimate vibe watch.
I don't think the real answer has anything to do with celebrities or brands, despite the tendency towards worship/whoring of the two.
I would contend the answer is: it's personal, which is to say, it's the watch you wear that just seems to fit the essence of you better than any watch you've ever seen or worn or can even imagine, the one that's unmistakably your watch.
And it should be different for almost everybody, save, perhaps, for people who can't think for themselves and need to be told what to like, though they'll never actually find it.
It's a watch that makes you not care that much about any other watches because no amount of hype or marketing or trends will add up to a watch that makes more sense for you to wear, but you need to really know yourself to find it.
At some point in life, you've probably been around long enough to know what you like, and similarly, at some point in the watch game, you know what you prefer in terms of style, measurements, materials, movements, colors, straps, design language, etc.
When you find the watch that puts it all together, that's your vibiest (or whatever stupid made-up buzzword you want to use) watch.
If you know you know why
The vibe comes from genuinely not giving an F. Be Confident and your F91w is a flex
Wearing a Pagani or wwrhfru or $15 casio when you can actually afford to wear Rolex, etc. I made up the second name, but you get the idea. That or no watch at all.

Like Bill Gates with his Casio Duro - antiflex flex.
Gates be more like, “Leave me alone with my Casio, I don’t flex because I don’t like to remind people that I used my fake philanthropy $ billions to fund big pharma‘s takeover of the WHO."
Heh, yeah, not sure Hemingway belongs on that list. But the answer is of course the "Top version Azimuth Gran Turismo 911 Motor Racing Theme Dial Silver Diamond Case Japan Miyota Automatic Movement Black Leather Strap Watch"

I think it has to do with his ”Giving Pledge.” He’s just always been a bit confused about the difference between “giving“ and “taking”.
