Building my first chronograph!

Hello Watch Fam!

Always thought the IWC Pilot Chrono was cool, now I have my own homage. I think it qualifies for Swiss made as it uses a Top Grade ETA 7750 movement, + dial, case and hands all sourced from a Swiss seller on eBay.

It was fun and challenging to put it together, especially getting the tiny hands right and fitting it into the case correctly took a while. Overall spent about $650 and about 2 hours of work

That is nice, how much did you pay for all of that?

·

All together about $650. The top grade movement was most of it at about $480

That is a great price.

Well done, it looks great! I like the red running seconds hand.

·

Great job! What case size? I'd love this in 38-39mm

·

Can you post a link to the seller, I think a few people on hear would also like to see photos if you took them during the build

·

Great work! Vikas.

This is a 41mm case it’s titanium though, so very light. Fits well on my 17cm wrist

Nice looks amazing didn't realise it wasn't iwc until I read a bit 👌🔥

Wow, it looks great! Nice job matching the top gun red subdial hand.

I have a slightly different version of the IWC pilots chronograph and it’s such a great watch. Enjoy yours - it’s a looker

This looks amazing, and one of a kind as well. How long did it take to make?

·

Amazing 😍 how much did it cost you ?

·

Looks great. I'm personally staying away from mechanical chronos, but it surely reminds me of a few European manufacturers.

By the time it breaks, my goal is to learn how to service a chronograph myself 😄

I see. I could possibly service an NH35 if I wanted to, at least I can definitely take it apart and put it back together. I actually have a VK63 based inexpensive chrono coming my way, as setting those hands on the subdials actually looks like fun. 😀

Start a brand, brother! 💪

·

Looks like you just built yourself a legit one, just without the logo! Good on ya!

Thanks for the post. I have been interested in building a chrono for years, but could never find the parts. Great looking watch.
