WHat is the Box You Want to Check in Your Next Watch?

Responding to another post got me thinking about what I want in my next watch? There are several boxes I want to check in my collection and realized I have too much of the same thing. Some of the checks I am considering are:

  • German Watch

  • Moon Phase

  • Brass/Bronze case

  • Titanium case

  • ????

What boxes are you looking to check with your next watch? Perhaps we can find a watch that checks two or three criteria?

Just random watch thoughts on a lazy snowy Saturday here in in NE Ohio!

The only boxes I consider are 1) do I like it and 2) will I be excited to wear it.

·

Mechanical Chrono … but from a microbrand

·

Current focus: Microbrand, and vintage. Not at the same time though.

·

It will not be my next purchase but thinking about a German moonphase complication.

·

Eye catching red dial, oris bc

·

Not buying another watch till next year!

·

I got a(west) German vintage with day and date @ 6, those were my main focus points. I think next I want to focus on something space related. Maybe that Sinn that was in space.

·

A boring answer…but something Swiss!

It’ll be my first big watch purchase, still haven’t decided on a model yet.

Quartz diver

·

I've been recently been thinking something with a green dial would be fun

This exactly.

·

GADA swiss made watch!!😉

·

A good bracelet

Matte dial

·

Something with color, maybe a red dial.

·

I'm going with "Sonnerie Au Passage" ;)

·

Also in NE Ohio, it is quite snowy today. I think I’m going to try to get into a true “GADA” watch to bring on trips rather than bringing 2-3 watches at a time

·

White dial. I am considering the Hamilton Khaki Field mechanical and the Cristopher Ward the Twelve. I know, very different watches

I don't have a green dial, a bronze watch or a dress watch. Although my idea of dress watch isn't particularly dressy. One of these would definitely tick a few boxes

Dude you have to check out the new CW Sealander they are about to release. I loved the tone of green

·

A high beat

A tourbillion

A holy trinity

A country of origin outside switzerland or japan

And the rabbit hole goes on and on

Do you mean the hunter green version? I wasn't aware of any new green sealanders, do you have a link or picture?

·

Not sure, other than I’m certain that it’s not on the market yet.

Nomos for the win in the pictured selection. Longines does a wickedly attractive green dial in their Spirit line.

It also comes on a bracelet.

My next one this week? 😂

Seriously, I would love to purchase a custom "piece unique" that I had a hand in designing, but not quite ready for that yet. Something with a dial by Voutilainen and a movement by Vaucher...one can dream.

·

A chronograph! I’ve never had one and I’m starting to find them appealing. It will need to be quite modern looking, preferably mechanical. I’m not entirely against the Seiko Mechaquartz movements except that the 24 hour sub dial seems like such a waste of a function. Being mechanical, the movement is likely to be thicker, which means the watch may also have a commensurately longer lug to lug, which might make it too big for my 6.7” wrist.

The Tag Heuer Carreras seem to fit the bill here, but they’re expensive. That’s not a problem if I can summon the patience to save up. If. 🤪

I really like the spirit line, but hate that longines make a bracelet with quick adjust and decided not to use it on that watch.

·

Bronze case .. but I now they are needy and need wrist time to get patina.. I’m not just ready to commit

To be honest with you I’m not quite sure if it’s new or not, I just saw the words “Pre Order” and assumed it, but this is it…

That is the hunter green, they did a LE bronze chronometer version that I would really like
