Help me decide

I have decided to add a Hamilton Khaki Field to my collection. It will be my fun summer watch :) but which color?

(Current collection: Panerai Luminor Due Gray Dial, Seiko SKX 009, Tudor BB58, JLC Master Control Calendar & Rolex Explorer ii Polar)

Black dial black dlc is fun.

Great options! I would suggest the white dial and silver case. I am not sure about the specific PVD coating that Hamilton uses but in general Black PVD are very easy to scratch and bellow the coating are just a silver case. The results of the scratches are very-visible-very-ugly. And considering that you are looking for an "adventure watch", some scratches are expected, at least on the silver dial they will look good.

Here are a simple article about it:

If you like the stealth aesthetics I suggest you to looking for carbon or any other synthetic material, like this one:

A company called Marathon also produces a few nice models with more affordable prices. And we always have the Breitling models if you want something a bit pricier.

Good purchase!

White.

Unless one is a full-fledged tactical bro.

I tried on the white one after seeing all 3. Under the AD lights, the white really pops. The others look a lot more mute

The scratches worry me +1 point for White ;)

I'd go with bronze

·

Of the Hamilton options I'd choose white, but I think a Marathon would be pretty awesome as well.

The GPM, GPQ, or even Navigator would be a fun way to get field watch without going the "standard" route.

If you want a more standard look, but want to spend a bit less, consider a Vaer as well.

I was going to say do they do the Black dial with brushed steel, but now I’m thinking actually go for the bronze. Why - I don’t know. Tomorrow I’d probably tell you to buy something else, so at least I’m trying to stay on topic.

You are overthinking this: marked down to $41 from $895 on Jomashop. It is still a bit overpriced, but ....

I heard Marathon several times now :) maybe i need to do some further research. Thanks !

I would pick the new 38mm titanium auto:

If you are rough with your watches go with the steel and white dial. If you baby your watches go with the PVD. Personally It's easier to polish a scratch/small scuff.

·

Steel white dial. Easy.

That one's only 95% off, this one is 97%.  And it's hideous.

You said it's going to be a summer watch so I think the lighter one should get the nod. Both look good but the silver one pops and will likely wear better with "summer" type straps.

Definitely the silver with the white dial. The PVD coating may wear through in places like on the lugs from the type of strap you may use, Nato's for instance. Could be wrong though, never owned a PVD coated watch and I'm a bit biased as I own a Hamilton Khaki Field and it's definite keeper in the collection.

I'm sure any of their field watches you would enjoy.

This is my pick though 👍

You read my mind.  I don’t mind the manual khaki fields, but they all seem to have faux lume; the autos have nice white, legible hands.

·

i would go with white dial. black pvd coated case is scratched easily i guess

·

That is hideous, but at least it's not 50mm 😂

56mm, two tone, 31mm lugs, 20mm thick, marked down from $8700 to $900, and a gosh dang tourbillon.

Scrolling Invictas on Joma is rapidly becoming a preferred activity.

Im selling a brand new 38M Hamilton khaki field watch .H70455733 is the model number. if I return it they will charge me an 80 dollar restocking fee cus I took the plastic off lol I’m open to trades for a 42m new. comes with proof of purchase and warranty card box etc everything.

·

Ahhh man!  It'd a tough choice considering I plan on buying the mechanical as well, and it's between those two choices lol. I'm personally leaning towards white dial. Good luck.

·

Thank you all for your opinions! I will go to some watch shops this week and let you know what i bring home :D

·

If we’re talking summer watch and based on your current collection, I’d  go white. I also think it’s the more appealing of the two personally.

Depending on the sizing I may buy that. Every day I wake up in shame

White

·

+1 for the white. Looks much better to me.

·

Get the pretty one where you can read the time from a fleeting glance. If you have to pause to pick out the hands amid clutter your not going to love it. Buy the one that jumps off the page at you and you gotta have it.

·

I do love this watch, its on my list of most wanted.

I have the green dial, but if I had to choose between those two I would definitely go with the white dial.

I have a titanium PVD black Hamilton for 4 years now.  Not a single scratch.  I used for yard work, working on cars, etc.

Me too 👍
