Blancpain x Swatch

Looking pretty good to me if these are the ones. See one comment below for source - looking to be some Japanese newspaper.

Not looking bad at all, if that’s the end result. I had lower expectations.

·

I'd personally take everything with a HUGE grain of salt. Keep an open mind, cuz if you get attached to a design and it's nothing like the renderings popping up on reddit, you don't get disappointed.

Or maybe it will work out since you won't need to spend money! 🤔🫣😆

·

These were probably leaked from some Japanese source/newspaper so chances are higher than the prior renderings, i think.

Much nicer than the Reddit mockups... no offense to anyone involved with those.

·

These don't look fun to me.

·

These look absolutely awesome!

·

No, just no. Swatch has to stop 🛑✋ with these. They just pull the most popular watch from your brand (Moonwatch) and now (Fifty Fathoms) and say “Let’s make a Kids version made from recycled Plasty. Oh and you have No Say… here is your cease and desist” 🤯🤯🤬

·

With the exception of the Atlantic, they're all more interesting to look at than the BP50F. More than enough WR. Auto movement with interesting decoration. The Arctic is my choice.

So I'm looking forward to the prejudiced having to resort to moaning about the price and the "plastic". Hopefully more panties in a bunch than there are already.

🍿Popcorn is at the ready! 🍿

If they look like these, I'm very interested. Unfortunately somehow Swatch doesn't have a store in Chicago. What's up with that?

·

I’d definitely be on that bandwagon if they are accurate images!

·

What happens with the Sistem 51 movement at the end of its life?

·

My favorite part of these watches isn't even the watch but the straps.

·

They look nice, i give them that. Im just waiting to see the price.

You throw the whole watch into the ocean that it represents. They can't be recycled.

·

These look better than I expected but I've no interest in this. Living in NZ means that I'll probably never see one thanks to Swatch's decision to sell them from their stores.

·

Pimping out a classic respected sought after watch by turning into a plastic quartz kid’s toy is plagerism that only a 9 year old would consider. Swatch ain’t stupid, they knew sticking “Omega” on the face of a watch you might win in the local carnival ring toss would make them millions. That worked, so now they whore out Blancpain and the 50 Fathoms, and you can bet they have a piece of junk tourbillion on the drawing board, and buyers will be lined up to pay $380 for a watch that cost $27 to make. And is not worth that. At the end of the day if you want a Speedmaster or a 50 Fathoms like we all do but can’t afford it like most of us can’t, then yes get the Swatch offerings. And know that I can lie to you and you can lie to me, but you can never lie to yourself.

·

So this is the real thing, theres a video of one on the High Snobiety instagram.

91m water resistance. Bezel sounds okay but not great.

I personally prefer the moonswatch design.

·

they tried but fell short in my opinion

·

Hodinkee just posted on Instagram in-hand pictures, pretty close to these...!

Can’t wait to here from all the people who have been “long time fans of Blancpain” all of a sudden.

popping up like zit all of a sudden just like the last release which also annoyed as well, but more to the hobby i guess? i

it will create traction for blancpain for sure, though as they need it.

Based on the watchfinder article I read, the movements are disposable and not serviceable. $400 for a plastic watch and a disposable movement. Ouch. 💵

I was reading a few articles and posts on other forums. The movement seems to last between 2-5 years from the long-term reviews posted. None mentioned the movement lasting for more than that duration. The power reserve seems to be the first issue after a year of use with it slowly depleting from 90 hours and the movement doesn't seem to last more than 2 years if the watch is used as a daily or too often.

·

Much better than I expected. Gimme the Indian Ocean!

·

Defo getting one !

LA doesn’t have one either. Wild.

·

German newspapers, magazines and their online outlets started to hype them already pronouncing that they have much more potential than the MoonSwatch.

·

Actually, I wasn't interested... but the arctic ocean looks better and better to me 🤔... I've to stay strong... hopefully they will not be on stock, whenever I pass a Swatch shop (happens once a week)....
