Hey there! New to this group, so I'd like to introduce my collection
I’ve liked watches for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I had a few G-Shocks (both real and fake), a string of Fossils, several fashion watches, with my first mechanical watch being an automatic Kenneth Cole I got after graduating from university.
I started 'seriously' collecting watches when I bought a Seiko Giugiaro on a trip to Tokyo in 2015, not fully recognizing the significance of the watch, just picking it out of a display case for how cool it looked.
My next piece was a vintage Skyliner from the 60s (bottom right), which I purchased from a dealer here in the Philippines. It’s that watch that really took me down the rabbit hole, the result of which is what you see here.
Here's what I’ve cobbled together so far:
Top (L-R): Slava MiG-29, Seiko Giugiaro “Ripley” reissue, Oris Divers 65 36mm, Speedy Reduced (my “grail”, since the full-size Speedy feels too big for my wrist), MoonSwatch Jupiter (bought at the Swatch store in Biel), Seiko SRPG31K1
Middle: (L-R): Seiko Skyliner, Tissot Seastar, Ricoh “President”, Junghans Trilastic, Helbros Mickey Mouse, Swatch Gent (also from Biel)
Bottom: Timex Q Hodinkee, Timex Q Pepsi (will be up for sale soon), Seiko SNA65 (for repair and sale)
I’ve resolved to keep my collection down to 12 at any given time, so some of these pieces will be looking for new homes soon. It’s gonna be a difficult exercise, but this will hopefully help keep impulse buys to the minimum. Wish me luck!
