It's funny how difficult it is for me to recall what I was wearing over the years on special occasions though I can often recall exactly what my date (now wife) was wearing.
This Day-Date though was without a doubt my first real "dress watch" and it's served that function well on the many date nights since.
She's wearing Cartier and you can tell this was before we joined the watch community because we started out with such basic icons and I rarely post anything from Rolex anymore.
There is an article or two on this somewhere. The last first date I had I wore my Lorus Mickey Mouse watch. About a month later it irreparably died and the woman admitted that she noticed it early and it gave an impression she liked. So much so that she offered monies for it to be replaced, which I did.
Anyway, it gives a carefree appearance and it's the only watch that consistently gets remarks (positive ones!) from strangers.
Hey Deniz, I was just about to say nice photo of your Murph haha.
I met my fiancee (soon-to-be wife) in late 2019. At that point, I didn’t have a single watch as I was saving pretty much every single cent to put it towards moving abroad and going to grad school. Fast forward to today, she’s moved halfway across the world and she’s been gracious enough to gift me with an engagement watch of my choice. I have thus been overthinking it heavily haha.
Hmmm, depends on how you dress! A suit or sports jacket should equal a dress watch. Jeans and a polo will be something like my Tudor or Aquaracer. If it is say ice skating then G-Shock all the way!
Reverse question: you show up on time and well groomed and the person you meet on the first date is wearing an Apple Watch. What do you think, what do you say/not say, what do you do/not do?

I’ve been thinking about a Cartier santos. Great Hamilton by the way 👌
Wore this " new to me" on my first date with my Lady a couple of years ago - stupidly winding it on wrist the crown came off in my fingers 😭
Repair & service cost £490 & nearly 4 months...
Both GF & watch have proved to be expensive, but think they're both keepers 😁👍

First date? Gotta go bold straight away, let her know who's boss, by fully protruding with the BIG VIC:

Man, that was like 20 years ago with the misses…might have been an old Freestyle Shark watch or Rip Curl Wave Kinetic
I'd probably go with whatever is on my wrist that day. I'm definitely in the camp of have coffee or some low key first date.
Hmmm. 🤔
I think it was a Timex. First time I bought a watch with a date window. I prefer no dates generally.
It's funny, but I never dated my later wife. Hence I have no first date watch.
Clean underpants and mouthwash
My last “first date” was when I first met the person who would become my wife; g shock G7900 FTW 🙌

Edit: even worse: a ghastly Garmin or fitbit
Molten gold dial
Clothes would be a first ;)

All depends on how big her t#ts are 😂

Brilliant 😂
Probably my GO, very me
I built this a couple of months ago, still a favorite, and suitable for any occasion.

Whats more important than anything is the sentimental thought and great memories.
