I've managed to get really favorable results polishing cases using Mothers' Mag Polish. It's original use is removing scratches from magnesium wheel rims on cars. I don't have any rims that require polishing, but II had the case of my thirty year old Citizen with some pretty gnarly battle damage. So the case was there, polish was there, and me three. Serendipity! It took out all but the deep gouges inflicted when it was on my wrist wrangling Tomcats on the deck of the Nimitz.
Just ordered a 36mm Stainless Oyster Case, Silver Mesh Bracelet, already have a NH35 and , Meteor Dial for it.
Try clicking on one of the stores on AliExpress, they have a bigger selection of dials
If it is a Diver style watch that you want to build or mod it's pretty difficult not to either strongly resemble or be a copy of either a Rolex Submariner or Seiko SKX. They're all just variations on a theme. As long as you are either building it for yourself or not trying to pass it off as something it's not, I see nothing wrong with this. And truthfully really don't give a fuck about what others think about it anyway.
Funny you should ask, my wife and I had this very discussion last night. Her view is that she would like a bigger sized watch so she can actually read the time, opposed to those little tiny watches generally marketed as "Ladies Watches". As if Time knows or cares about gender🤣. I'm thinking a case size between 30-35mm range would fit her nicely.
