To wear a watch looser or tighter?

As someone with small wrists, I often have trouble finding watches that fit my wrist well, period. When it comes to fit, there are similar issues. Yesterday I had a watch sized, and it turned out pretty tight. I put in another small link, and now it’s shifting around my wrist a little bit more and can make a full turn around my wrist if I force it. Is it better for the watch to fit a bit more loosley or sit tighter and more secure on the wrist?

I'm guessing there isn't more micro adjustments at the clasp. For me I would change the clasp that provides a few more micro adjust. In terms of loose or tight, it depends on how you feel and how you like to wear your watches. But, if you're able to fully turn the watch around your wrist I think that's too loose.

Personal preference - I like 'em tight, so the head stays where I put it.

Are we talking about watches? LOL 🤣

What's more comfortable/which way do you prefer? This question might sound rude, i promise I'm not meaning for it to be: are you going to wear it in a more uncomfortable way if we tell you to?

Looser is less pressure, but it’s pretty annoying having the watch slide up and down my wrist. Tighter is more secure. I wouldn’t wear it the more uncomfortable way if you told me to, but I am interested in hearing the direction most people lean.

Personally, if I had to pick between too tight or too loose, I'd err on the side of more loose but that's also because I'm fat.

·

Tight enough that it doesn’t spin, but loose enough to breathe, if it’s neither, I’ll either change the strap, or wear it loose, it looks ridiculous tight and could affect circulation

·

I'm happy to adjust slightly loose and then just move it up the wrist a few mm until perfect.

Indeed

·

I prefer tight but with fixed bracelets it can be uncomfortable. More brands need microadjustments

·

More thigh than loose. But I should move.

·

Loose my personal preference

·

Try a strap

·

I always wear mine tighter. I don’t like them sliding around. My mom is the polar opposite and wears them so loose they slide pretty far down her arm. All personal preference.

·

I do not like the feeling of a watch slidding up and down or spinning so I would go slightly tight.

·

I have yet to find a watch strap or oyster bracelet that has a Goldilocks fit; it’s either too tight or too loose, none are ‘just right.' For that reason, I really like mesh bracelets that are infinitely adjustable.

I am also expecting to receive my first perlon strap today, which are also infinitely adjustable.

·

If it can fit as tight as possible without causing me inconvenience then tighter. Otherwise, I’d like to think my watches as a “bracelet”, so looser

·

If you can force it all the way around your wrist then it’s too loose for sure

·

I don't like loose watches moving around my wrist.

·

You could try a metal mesh strap which has almost unlimited sizing potential. That has helped me a lot in this type of dilemma.

·

If no micro adjust (looking at you Grand Seiko), a bit looser. I swell with heat and food intake 😆

·

Snug is nice.

Too loose bothers me immensely.

For bracelets, I'll size so it's -just- a bit loose on the

last micro, then adjust accordingly.

I've put "between" holes in a couple leather straps.

·

Due to wrist size expanding/contracting due to temperature, I wear it loose. This way I can set and forget.

·

On the loose side for my 8" wrist. My check is to be able to get my index finger easily between the wrist and the clasp.

·

Loose. At the end of the day the wrist swells a bit so if you have a tight fit, by the end of the day you will end up with the bucks digging into your skin. I guess it’s some sort of a reaction but sometimes the wrist swells some 20-30 min after you put in the watch. Maybe it also depends o. The ambient temperature…

·

I prefer loose. A tight bracelet or strap feels uncomfortable to me.

·

Wear it each way for a week and see what you like more.

·

Generally, I like mine a little loose, not enough for it to rotate on its own, but close to that. Otherwise, I won't be able to wear them at all in the summer. Wrist swells up too much. This is also why I love on-the-fly quick adjust clasps.
