Have you ever bought the same watch in a different color? (a mechanical watch model at $800+ USD)

I'm looking at buying same watch in a different color. It feels like duplication, when I could have a entirely different watch. Some ground rules, - mechanical and not-plastic - $800+ (USD equivalent)...

Wait for perfection or settle? (at $1500 USD equivalent)

I think everyone has been here. You see a new model watch and think, it's fantastic so close to perfection, but a minor detail puts you off. Let's imagine the case, size, dimensions, bracelet, movemen...

For simpler times, make it Rotary time

Once upon a time when life was simple, uncomplicated, no responsibilities. I didn't know a quartz 3 hander vs mechanical. I saw HSamuels as purveyors...

The most balanced youtube review of the CW 12X. A hard no for me just for the price.

Although, I think it's a good thing for us enthusiasts, that GS is kept as our secret. We don't want GS to go the way of Rolex. I can foresee a time when a GS dress watch will be at the level of PP Calatrava, at a fraction of the price.

Another argument for Pepsi, it's more in keeping with the style of "diver-chronograph". This Panda does not have a tachymeter bezel, which is associated with the Seiko speedtimer, tracing back to the Daytona. If you want Panda, I'd save up for the Seiko Speedtimer. Unless that is all you are interested is the colour scheme. Again, always try them on.

Pepsi fan here, but I'm also looking for a panda. For me, Pepsi feels fun and colors pop. Any color strap goes, and rubber/nato/bracelet. I like the Panda, for totally different reasons, to me it's more "serious" watch, with greater legacy associated with those colors. You should try on both, they are so different you'll know which is right for you.

You've built your brand from scratch, it's hard for your loyal customers/fan base (usually of a certain demographic) to accept you shifting prices significantly. I don't think one brand name can sell watches at $500 and at $10,000. It will only work for a manufacturer if it has differentiation between sub-brands eg. Seiko/GS/Credor.

Influencers do not influence watch makers, they try to influence buyers. In that sense i think there are plenty of shills out there (but not all). They will push narratives on favored brands, top 10s etc. They will NOT determine manufacture, which usually has many years cycle. I don't see Rolex/Omega, shift their multi tens of millions spend on product development on the words of a person spouting their thoughts/predictions. Besides, influencers opinions can flip-flop all over the place. All should be taken with pinch of salt. It's entertainment.

Movement accuracy is overrated. You can take your COSC/METAS and shove it, I'd rather take an X% cheaper watch (same watch without the certification).
