Comments; Which Watch Gets the Most?

Of the half a dozen times someone's complimented my watches five of those have been over my inexpensive watches like my gshock or timex's which is equal parts cool and infuriating

My barber commented on my bronze C60 one day, but otherwise my watches tend to be quite understated so it makes sense that people don't comment on them.

My two tones Rolex Datejust. I got comments only when I am on a cruise ship. I guess because it is a Rolex and it is two tones. Other watches not so much. I got zero for my JLC Polaris so far.

It’s a tie between the PRX (before I swapped out the bracelet) cause it’s blingy and the Dan Henry 1964 Panda Dial cause it looks expensive to the untrained eye.

"WTF is that thing on your wrist?" is not a compliment.

I've only gotten one comment ever and it was from internet company guy who randomly knocked on my door .. I no longer have the watch though so it couldn't have meant much to me lol

People don't know what it is, but 3 times, I've had someone say "that's a really nice watch!"

Only comments I have ever had have been when I'm wearing a G Shock.

My GF likes my Seagull 1963 panda most. - "that one looks best". Other than that the seagull got complimented once by a colleague and once by a customer. The Kamasu was commented once.

Although last weak a female coworker asked: "How many watches do you own? Every time i see you, you wear a different one."

Without doubt, any retro digital I wear always gets comments, and they’re always positive! My Tudor Royal blue has received a few, as have a couple of the others, but the affection showed towards the digitals is unsurpassed!

Id say there's definitely cult classics and fan favorites, but nothing's ever a consistent hit on its own. At least not as consistent as the amount of love a flieger B dial doesn't get.

I have some eye catching watches and can honestly say I have not had a single comment on any of my watches except for my parents calling my Gshock tat and my wife asking what a gmt sub dial was.

The only compliment I've ever received was on a suuuuper cheap I&W carnival fashion watch. One of those "sleek minimal bauhaus dress watches" where it was basically an aliexpress nomos orion that I owned before I was into watches much. Bought it on Amazon for a job interview for 20$ USD.

Had a gentleman come up to me in a store and tell me how good it looked, and asked me if it was a Rolex... So... There's that.

I had my SMP and my BB Pro commented on by the same gent in the same week on a project out of town last year. He was a watch guy tho. Only time anyone ever said anything.

Only from fellow watch heads... never happened with normal folks sadly. But it's all good, we enthusiasts buy our watches as our personal eye candy anyways.

I got a compliment the other day when wearing my Orient mako. The guy at work thought it was an omega initially.

The dials on the Astron models are next level - I've seen a few of these and they dazzle in person.

Probably a toss up between my duro with an orange fkm strap and my cadisen water ghost. Mostly because those two stand out withtheir colors and my sister being the only one who commented on them lol. Mostly I think because she looks at nicking my accessories out of a sibling love and her magpie ADHD.
