You know what really grinds my gears?
Pocket shots. Crotch shots. Ant shots.
Pocket shots. Who in the hell wants to look at the watch UPSIDE DOWN! I don’t care what else you’re wearing at that point, the watch is what I’m here for. Why do I now have to look like the idiot finagling around my damn device to have a proper look at the freaking dial? Oh, yeah, that’s how I personally look at my watch shots at home, i take pictures of them and just rotate them 180 and say I’m Australian and happy to look at them that way. No, just no.
Crotch shots. Maybe they’re accidental, maybe some aren’t so. Either way, let’s just be conscious when we have that brief look at the picture we’ve just taken to show off those stylin’ kix and smashin’ shorts that we’re also not putting the center of the shot on your moose knuckle. What a pleasant series of thoughts one is forced to go through from your JLC to your junk.
Ant shots. I don’t know what else to call them. You know the ones, great scenic background, iiiiiiiiitty bitty wristy. I’m middle aged, and thankfully still don’t need glasses, but these pictures make me feel like I should be second guessing myself. I dig nature as much as the next guy, but again, I’m here for the watch and the background should be a frame not the only discernible detail. I like to at least be able and tell what type of watch it could be. I don’t wanna be left wondering; Could be a watch? Could be a scrunchie? Could be some bracelets? Why are you posing your arm like that anymore if I can’t see what’s on it in the picture?
And that’s what really grinds my gears.
Just a little ranting and raving with hopefully enough reason.
I’m taking this light-heartedly and hope we all do the same, not making any targeted punches here. Anyway, what are your personal gripes? Pet peeves? WatchCrunch related, obviously.
Not the fanciest of collections. Just an amateur enthusiast, with a little interest in some things EDC as well. And tennis. And F1. And nature. And science.

I was guilty of that today, but I was just trying to do something different than I have been. Really, I was trying to be more like Jody from JOMW. 😂 I never took many pictures of myself wearing watches until I joined this group. I will try to comply. 😁😂 I still refuse to do a wrist roll on the camera.

Loved this. I also apologize for my poor android $25 Tracfone photos. However, at 58 and no interest in technology and definitely no interest in an Apple I-phone that all the kids love (and pretty much 99% of the population use), this is probably as good as it's going to get. lol.

I actually like a pocket shot in a watch review, it gives better size perspective than just wrist shots can.
What a great RANT and great responses!! I'm relatively new to WatchCrunch and haven't seen many crotch shots outside of this thread (HAHAHA), but I'm totally on board regarding the nausea of the pocket shot. We're not watch models here... just show me the watch without the attempted modeling!

If I see a photograph or a type of photograph I don’t like, i spend less time dwelling and evaluating and move on. The point of the photograph was (most likely) not to ‘offend’ or ‘annoy’ me, personally. I’d rather dwell on the photographs I enjoy
